Where is the Best Hamburger in Jacksonville, Florida?
What a wonderful place to find good comfort food. The Scotch egg was a pleasant supprise, and the coconut shrimp were sooo sweet. The pastry on top the Irish stew flaked apart at a touch, and the chunks of meet were so tender and big. AND they had WOODCHUCK!!!!!!!!! (a draft cider). The service was excellent and the locals colorful. This is a nice place to take even the children for lunch. Sit by the window and watch the parade of local color pass, or sit at the bar and become a part of the local color, either way this place is a winner!Pros + Atmosphere, Service, Great foodCons – Hidden Parking, stew was salty
I have dine at all the BBQ restaurants in Jacksonville, even north to Maryland & west to Texas but no one beats BONO’S. The pure taste of the meat come from Harvey, main cooker who has been there over 50 years and give BONO’S it’s personality. When Harvey retires there is going to a great lose. At all the other BONO’s here in Jax it is not the same.One day I met a man who flies from New York to Jax, has lunch at BONO’s, drives to Miami for business back to Jax eat at BONO’s and flies back to NY. I usually go to the Lake City Fl. location but I have found every Hardee,s that I have visited had Great food & their help were great. Last August I was on crutchs & the Managers at Lake City Fl. took my order & went out of their way & carried it to my car . This was on all shift,s & it seem,s like my second home. They are alway,s cheerfull & ask how I am & how is my wife. I would never think of going to the competition. Jim McDonald.Pros + Thumbs Up
If you haven’t been in a while, Freebirds has redone their stage. It’s awesome- great sound, too. Sometimes they tend to be a bit slow with the bar service, but it’s worth it to see a band you like play. Cool place to go hang out on the deck in the summer or eat outside on the balcony.
