Where is the Best Hamburger in Charlotte, North Carolina?
I had forgotten about the good old days until I drove up to Zack’s Hamburgers. It all came back once I hit the door and stepped inside. I sat down in front of a real hamburger and drifted back to those good ole days. I listened to George talk to each customer like he knew them well and he would see them tommorrow. When I finished my Zack’s Special I learned that George did know all those people well and the only thing he was puttin in the food was years of experience makin a great burger. Zacks makes a great burger and when you add the personality and fun the place has I can see why the folks keep comin back for the Zack Attack. George started out with a good thing and never changed it! Zack’s has best burger in town. I’m not Kiddin’ Tommy Nations acpweb.netPros + price, delicious, phenominalCons – crowded lunch
I asked our waiter (who I think was the owner) what he recommended and gave it to me straight…they have a kick a$$ wraps and their burgers are awesome. He was dead on…my gf had the Black & Bleu which was awesome and I had the Southwest Chicken wrap that was one of the best wraps I’ve had at a bar. We were all pleasantly surprised at how good the fries were b/c they didn’t look amazing. Go here and try this place…Why, b/c I SAID SO! I didn’t see the Blonde’s side to know what was going on….can anyone help me out for the next time I go? Pros + Great neighborhood bar, location
It was my firt time to go there (obviously I am not from NC) and the location was difficult to find. (I was taking the neighborhood roads and it was dark and bad directions) anyways, so much of complaining, the food was good. The meatball was stuffed with garlic and other seasoning, not like any other regular meat balls. At first, I thought 2 meatballs ain’t enough for me, but as soon as I dig’in, the flavor and the temperature along with other rich and fresh ingridients, by the time I finished the dish, I found the protion of the food was just right. The cons after all, was the long wait in after order the dish to the time when the dish to the table. I will revisit this place next time, and trying not to get lost again. Pros + good meat balls!Cons – hard-to-find location, long wait
Went to the Penguin last Friday. Both of us are new to Charlotte, and after seeing a clip about The Penguin on the Food Network, I suggested that we try it. First, we didn’t know were to park, but found a dirt lot near by. There was a huge line outside, but considering there were like 14 groups ahead of us, we didn’t wait long at all. The bar has great specials, $1.50 drafts, $5.00 yeunglin pitchers; they even have firefly, which appears to be hard to find in charlotte. The food is greasy but good. Fried pickles are “the thing to get,” but neither of us were that impressed. The area around the restaurant seemed really cool and like there was a lot to do nearby. I will definitely be going to The Penguin again!Pros + food, cheap drinks, good serviceCons – parking can be tight on weekend
