Where is the Best Hamburger in Charlotte, North Carolina?
FOOD is awesome… service is wonderful! Burgers taste just like they came off a gas grill. First time I ate here I went around back to see if a gas grill was in use!!!!! Fries are second to none, and the milk shakes are hand made, no pre made mixes here!!!!! We visited Capital Grille tonight for the very first time, it was “restaurant week” in Charlotte so we wanted to take advantage of the three course special for $30 each. We got there early because we wanted to sit at the bar for a bit. The hostess told us our table would be ready a bit before our reservation time, but to sit at the bar, enjoy, and let her know when we were ready to be seated. We sat at the bar and I asked for a Stoli Doli, which came HIGHLY requested on this very board – well y’all were right on! Delicious (albeit a bit pricey – $12 each). I downed two of them (haha, be careful, they WILL catch up to you, not right away though, I was definitely not feeling too hot during my heavy but heavenly meal). They are strong, but excellent. Anyway, while we were at the bar, I believe it was the manager or head maitree’de came over and said “hope we didnt butcher your last name too badly when you walked in, your table is ready whenever you are.” I said to my fiancee, how did he k
This place is home of the best tasting burger by far. They know exactly how to cook the meat so it retains its juices (FLAVOR) as well as top it. The tomatoes are fresh out of the garden quality. Onion rings are great. Tried the double and the single burger, single is plenty of food. This is the place I have sought after, its got friendly service, and that burger joint appeal. Just don’t use your cell phone while inside. Green’s Lunch is a Charlotte institution. They have been in business of over 80 years, since 1926. It is a friendly atmosphere with fast service,and good food. Their hot dogs are served on a soft steamed bun and fixed to order. All the way is mustard, ketchup,chili, onions, and slaw,however they have relish and kraut if you want it. My parents took me to Green’s when I was small, and I took my kids, and now my kids take their kids.It has become our meeting place every Saturday.When you go there you will see familiar faces all the time, and if you are a loyal customer, they even remember your order.There is alot of history at Green’s and alot of famous people have eaten there. I asked the owner once, what is the secret of Green’s hot dogs, and she replied, it is their secret homemade chili, only two people know how to make the chili. Bars/restaurants like Alexander Michaels, Selwyn Tavern, and other older, established neighborhood local gathering spots have enjoyed success because they did what they did extremely well. They served good food, had good selections of beer and liquer, and most importantly gave the people in the neighborhood a comfortable place to hang out. For those of us in the Carmel Rd corridor, our neighborhood bar/hangout has arrived!
