I started going to Rita 2yrs ago based on these very citysearch reviews. I never wrote a review in return, but after recent experiences, here I am.I am low maintainence and have simple requests when I get into the chair. Rita has given me great cuts time after time that don’t require a lot of maintainence, but that don’t look basic either. I always leave with a stylish new look (and money left in my pocket).After getting to know Rita through my visits, I learned that she adds makeup artist and colorist to her list of many talents. So I booked her for my wedding day makeup and hair. She was super accomodating and highly attentive, and my entourage and I couldn’t be happier with our looks – natural, elegant, and above all, lasting in muggy August weather!Last week I got a trim and with Rita’s recommendation, a gloss. Upon walking into the salon I immediately felt welcomed and at ease. There is no “snotty” attitude (and I had accidently forgotten my first appointment the week before) – just acceptance. I had my hair cut by Timothy – what an amazing listener. He did exactly what I asked for and couldn’t be any sweeter. At first, I was a little worried that he really did listen to me and left my hair a bit long (no one ever listens so I stress the length) while taking off just enough and that he wasn’t creative. I was worried that the cut I asked for lacked cutting edge style. I was so wrong!! As the days pass I get more and more compliments on my hair from “wow, your hair has great shape”, to “did you just get longer layers” (I have always had long layers), to “your hair even looks gorgeous in a ponytail”. I was in Sephora and I saw this woman with gorgeous but effortlessly sexy hair. Her highlights were subtle but perfectly placed for her features and her hair was full, with soft wavy curls that fell just half way down her back. Even though I knew my thin hair could never look like hers, I had to ask her where she got her color done. I was looking for a new colorist and I went to Salon V and asked for Veronica after reading all the rave reviews about her here on citysearch, and let me tell you it’s all true. She’s a magician with color! She totally translated my half assed descriptions and magazine references into a stunning new look. And not even the one I intended to get!!! I walked in with this color in mind, and she very attentively explained to me why that wasn’t a good choice based on the tonality of my skin and color I was pointing to in the magazine. After carefully listening to me, she gave me great advice and showed me examples of color combinations. I was very impressed with how much time she set aside to work with me and all the while, she was being completely unpretentious and friendly; I think she’s the only stylist I’ve ever laughed so much with..Veronica spent a lot of time coloring my hair, using a really quality demi-permanent color that turned out beautifully.
