MY DAUGHTER & I STARTED GOING TO THE UPPER HAND/ROYAL OAKS ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO. WE WANTED SOME PLACE CLOSER TO HOME & THOUGHT WE’D TRY IT OUT. IT WAS WONDERFUL! THE STAFF TAKES THEIR TIME W/YOU (AROUND AN HOUR FOR A MANI, SAME FOR PEDI) AND DON’T MAKE YOU FEEL RUSHED. WE GO TO TRISH FOR OUR NAILS AND SHE’S AWESOME! THEY DON’T HERD YOU THROUGH LIKE CATTLE; THEY TAKE THEIR TIME WITH YOU AND YOU GET TO RELAX A BIT INSTEAD OF BEING RUSHED ALONG.LISA, THE EYEBROW CHICK, IS REALLY REALLY GOOD. MY DAUGHTER HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR ALMOST A YEAR FOR SOMEONE WHO COULD DO A GOOD JOB ON BROWS AND LOVES HOW LISA DOES HER BROWS — A COMPLIMENT TO LISA BECAUSE MY DAUGHTER IS VERY FUSSY!THEY WILL ALSO BE OFFERING SPRAY TANS SOON AS WELL (NOT THE NASTY BOOTH TYPE).IT’S NOT OVER PRICED AT ALL, MAYBE A FEW DOLLARS MORE THAN A REGULAR SALON BUT VERY WELL WORTH IT!WE’LL BE CUSTOMERS FOR A LOOOOOOOONG TIME!Pros + CONVENIENT LOCATION, PROFESSIONAL STAFFCons – CAN’T THINK OF ANY
My first review, I’ve been the Houston area guinea pig for waxing until now. The Waxing Bar came very highly recommended by a few friends and WOW. Pia was very quick and painless. She was very sweet and attentive to my every need. I explained that I have had 5 bad waxes by every “good” place on Citysearch but they all failed miserably. This is my Brazilian waxing place from now on! Pia’s wax really is better than anyones blue or not! Believe me, I’ve tried them all. Her secret oils work! All of the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their services. I love that they don’t try to make you buy crap like shirts and panties and all that fluff, I mean I am there for waxing. If you can get Pia I recommend her and if not I’m sure the other girls are great too, they definitely aren’t lacking in the humor aspect……I mean these people are very funny and a whole lot of fun. I’m new to this area and I am VERY particular about who I let touch my hair. I am one of those people that has went to the same person since high school. I even drove 6hrs just to get my hair done. So I guess you can say I was super picky! After reading the reviews on here I decided I would give Celina a try for my haircut. I was very nervous but I thought I would try and be open to it…well im very glad that I was. She did an awesome job. She listened to what I had to say and gave me her interpretaion on it. She walked me through each thing that she was doing to my hair and explained why. She really put me at ease and did an amazing job. While I was in her chair I had mentioned that it was way past time for me to get highlights and she recommended me to Talia…again I was very nervous but open to it because I trusted Celinas opinion. I had my hair cut and colored by Jo today for the first time. I loved the salon. It’s very stylish but comfortable and all of the staff is very welcoming. Jo was very nice. We had a discussion about what I wanted, color preference, etc. She got out hair swatches to make sure we were on the same page before she mixed up a color She was a bit rough during the coloring process but I’ve got 2 brothers so it wasn’t the worst hair pulling I’ve dealt with but I took note of it. I then did the 20 minute wait for your hair-color to set and then Diane came to get me to shampoo my hair. Diane was fabulous! What a warm person and she does a fantastic shampoo! I then had to wait another 30 min before Jo was ready to cut my hair. Again, no biggie as I’d put aside the later half of my afternoon to dedicate to this process. She sat me down and I told her that one of my main concerns was frizz. She looked at the picture I brought of the style I wanted and mentioned that it was probably go
