Where is the Best Haircut in Austin, Texas?
Jaime is the BEST hair dresser and colorist there is! Believe me? I had been a client of my sister, who is also a hair dresser for years. And consistently been unhappy with creativity or lack there of, her attitude about what SHE wanted to do with my hair? not me, and her lack of knowledge. I had heard that Urban Betty was one of if not the best salon in town. I decided to fire my sister as my hair stylist and finally see someone knew. I picked Jaime from her profile online? she oozes creativity, warmth and patience. Nervously, I went to her that first time and she did something my sister never did? sit down with me and listen to what MY goals and desires were for my hair. And she has been doing exactly that ever since. The last three times I went to see her I requested something totally different from the previous time, and each time she said it was no problem, had a can-do attitude, and each time my hair was a knock-out! She is such a kind person, easy to connect to, and on top of to
I followed Melissa as her client from her previous salon. She has been the MOST wonderful stylist and colorist I have ever had. I get comments and questions weekly about my cut and color. She makes me look and feel younger, and I’m truly comfortable with my hair. Every time I’ve asked for a change, she encourages me, and helps me find just what I’m looking for. She knows my preferences, but what’s more, she knows me. She remembers what we talk about, asks about my family, etc. and keeps up with my life. It’s a rare thing, but after years of going to Melissa, she probably knows me better than most of my friends. I LOVE MELISSA!The rest of the staff are awesome too! They always know my name, are friendly and helpful. And I love getting my hair washed! They massage my neck and head…OMG! I’d go there just for that! Always amazing!Bottom line, if you want to feel pampered, cared for, remembered and special, you need Salon Ciao Bella.LOVE YOU GALS!Pros + Relaxing and positive atmosph
I am writing to let everyone searching for ?the best? salon in Austin for highlights and lowlights to stop looking any further. Go to Skye Salon and ask for Laura (although the others are likely just as good). I am a lawyer from LA and I am particular about my look for work. I had gone to Vidal Sassoon for more than 20 years because the quality of hair coloring and cutting is consistently outstanding. I tried two other places in Austin and at one, I was there for hours and at the other, my hair was over-processed. A nightmare to try to fix. I read reviews on CitySearch and found Laura at Skye Salon. I checked the reviews at Yelp too and took a chance. You should too. Laura is excellent with color –both highlights and weaving in darker shades– a superb stylist, experenced and thus quick. The rates are reasonable and comparable to other salons. Another plus is that the salon is in a central location and there is ample parking; Laura, the staff and the owners made it an e
Blondie is the best. Bar none. All I can say is that I wish I had found her a few days ago. Background: I’ve had multiple spiral perms in my life. My hair perms very well and I have had really great results in the past. I wanted to go in and get a spiral perm on my long hair to create a nice, well styled look. Having such long, straight hair just wasn’t working for me. The woman I used to get my hair permed from was in another state, so I did some homework (apparently not enough!) and made an appointment with a stylist that came highly recommended from a friend. The perm came out horribly! My hair was fried and lightened no less than 4 to 6 shades. The hair didn’t curl, it crimped and singed. I tried to be zen about it… I mean, we all know that perms don’t always turn out and that sometimes if you give them a day or so they improve… well, by late last night it was apparent that wasn’t going to happen. The texture didn’t feel right. It didn’t feel like just-permed hair
I first met Tanya, who is one of the Barocca stylists, when she was working at a different salon in Austin. I was referred to her when the lady who usually did my hair was unavailable. Tanya gave me a great haircut and I have been going to her ever since. I was a little hesitant to go to Barocca at first, since I was used to seeing Tanya at her previous location. However, the fact of the matter was that Tanya had given me the best haircuts of my life and it would be foolish to go elsewhere. (Whether it is just a bangs trim, or an entire cut, I trust her to give me a look that will compliment my face and personality.) I got to the salon and realized that Barocca has a style all it’s own: from the earthy decor to the scent of fresh coffee and revitalizing salon products. I recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a fresh and flattering look and a welcoming environment. ((…and who iSN’T looking for that?? :o))
