Where is the Best Hair Straightening in Raleigh, North Carolina?
This was my first time ever going to a salon in the Raleigh area. I normally go home once a year to get my hair done, but I just couldn’t stand it anymore. After searching around on Google, I found Samuel Cole. I was somewhat hesitant, considering their listed price of a regular wash/cut/style (I’m a poor college student) and the fact that I’m very particular with my hair. But my first visit was PHENOMENAL! Not only was the receptionist incredibly friendly, so was Nico. She greeted me with a handshake and a warm smile, and we immediately hit it off!Professional, friendly, and so upbeat, I couldn’t ask for anyone better! I absolutely LOVE my new haircut. It’s the first time I’ve ever been fully satisfied with it. She also really listened to my concerns and hairstyling habits and was able to suggest some tips that were easy to work into my hectic schedule.Love LOVE LOOOOVE her!The salon itself is very well-maintained, professional, and chic. Mary does a great job and is very talented. She is willing to go out of her way to make time for an appointment even if it does not fit into her salon hours. I would recommend Mary to anyone looking for great color and style. She is up to date with the latest trends and even has great hair herself. As you know most hair stylist have messed up hair that is usually butched or multi colored as they experiment on themselves often, but not Mary. The only downside is that I find her prices somewhat steep, but they are consistent with other great stylist in the area, not to mention that I don?t usually spend a lot of money on hair care. I grew up over seas where eyebrow threading and body waxing are very popular. I moved to NC 3 years ago after college in FL and have been looking for a salon that offered threading! I have been to several salons in Raleigh and Cary that only offer waxing and what a disaster! I left too many salons with a completely different brow shape, uneven brows, eyebrow hairs missing and not growing back in important places! Yikes! Eyebrow waxing is messy, inaccurate and can rip off skin and leave you red and agitated for hours. Don’t get me wrong, waxing is great for bikini lines and legs, but not on your face, where accuracy is a must!Komal was clearly experienced, professional, hygienic (she washed her hands before and after and used gloves) and clearly skilled at her job. My bushy brows were tamed and smoothed, ready for my friend’s wedding this weekend. She was even able to squeeze me in for a quick bikini wax (almost painless)!Needless to say, I will be going back to Komal and
I have to say I’m a little disappointed to see some of the negative comments on here about Salon Blu in Brier Creek. I have been going to Amanda for almost 2 years and I have NEVER had a bad experience. She is professional, friendly, and does amazing things with color. I get more compliments on my hair than I ever have with any other stylist and I’m always quick to refer people to Amanda. Somehow she manages to make my hair look awesome and color it exactly how I want it done, even when I’m not sure what I want! She is talented, quick, and knows what she’s doing. I have never had a bad experience with any of the other staff there either. I have taken my 14 year old Stepson there on 2 occassions and he’s been pleased with the outcome as well. He lives in Texas and will only get his hair cut at Salon Blu when he’s in Raleigh. It says a lot about a stylist if they can please a picky 14 year old boy! I moved here recently from NY and asked my neighbor who cuts/colors her hair because it always looked so good. She suggested I make an appointment with Michele Wright at Haircolorxperts at the Arboretum in Cary.I have always had a problem with fine, limp hair and was never able to achieve a ‘natural’ style. Michele listened to my concerns and discussed my current routine before she began to work. When she was done, I was thrilled! I couldnt believe that after all these years, someone finally got it right! Even my husband, who doesnt notice anything, was impressed with her work. I was so pleased with her that I made an appointment for color before I left the salon. I went back a week later and was equally impressed with the color Michele applied. I couldnt thank Michele enough for doing such a wonderful job and making me feel really good about my hair.
