Where is the Best Hair Salon in Raleigh, North Carolina?
My hair is naturally curly, thick and frizzy. I’ve had relaxers applied on it for over 30 years. Once I had to start coloring the grey and relaxing my hair, it began breaking and falling out. William at Bliss Hair Salon has been the only one I have ever had to truly know how to manage my hair. I’ve gone to him for over a year and a half. He colors my grey, but has not relaxed or straightened my hair with any straighteners thus far to get it back to good health. But the remarkable thing is that my hair has felt silkier, straighter and shinnier than it has ever looked or been throughout my entire life! William just has a great talent and knowledge in managing difficult hair to make one look their very best. I’m 51 years old. But people always think I’m 38 to 42. I sent out Christmas cards last year for the first time with my picture included in the family photo with my two college students. Remarkably, friends who had not seen me in 30 years, didn’t know who was Mom or who was daughter.
I have lived in Raleigh for about 4 years now and I found a hair stylist when i first moved. Not so long after, she moved and the company would not tell me where she went, so i tried a few other stylists and just didnt like them. I have really dreaded getting my hair cut since then and its been a couple of years. I have always been a hair person, wanting all the latest cuts, but when you dont trust someone, you dont really care to get your hair cut. I happened to drive by Elle one day and made a call to check out the 411, and fell in love just by talking to them on the phone. They asked about my hair type, and what style i wanted so they could pair me with the best stylist for me. The set up an appoinment with extra time to discuss my hair with the stylist. Mary Taylor cut and styled my hair and i have to say, she is amazing. She took the time to listen to me explain how my hair is, and exactly what i wanted. I have to say I’m a little disappointed to see some of the negative comments on here about Salon Blu in Brier Creek. I have been going to Amanda for almost 2 years and I have NEVER had a bad experience. She is professional, friendly, and does amazing things with color. I get more compliments on my hair than I ever have with any other stylist and I’m always quick to refer people to Amanda. Somehow she manages to make my hair look awesome and color it exactly how I want it done, even when I’m not sure what I want! She is talented, quick, and knows what she’s doing. I have never had a bad experience with any of the other staff there either. I have taken my 14 year old Stepson there on 2 occassions and he’s been pleased with the outcome as well. He lives in Texas and will only get his hair cut at Salon Blu when he’s in Raleigh. It says a lot about a stylist if they can please a picky 14 year old boy!
