Where is the Best Hair Salon in Oakland, California?
I have been getting my hair cut and colored at this salon for several months. The salon is relaxed and stylish. The people who work there are attentive and nice. Kelly is the person who cuts and colors my hair. She is knowledgeable, creative and highly-skilled at her craft. I walk out of the salon feeling great. I think you will too. Bumble and Bumble products sold here. Highly recommended.
I wouldn’t recommend them, they’re just average. If only their service would match their attitude! I’ve started going there because the location is convenient, the price is okay and you can always get an appointment – however, not with the stylist you want. They schedule your appointment with whoever is available within your budget. The only exception is Diva herself, you can always ask for her, but she charges much more. I’m used to more sophisticated salons in Europe, and I’m always frustrated with the haircut I get at Diva. No matter how detailed I explain to them my hair, they never get it quite right. Fortunately, I have long hair and can pin it back or somehow cover up what doesn’t work. They just snip away at the ends, but around the face, where it gets really important, they hardly touch my hair. Instead they spend most of the time on styling. You walk out like a diva, but once you wash and style your hair yourself – same disappointment! I just know that a good haircut doesn’t
I used to have my haircut by Natasha who I really liked. I have thick, wavy hair and even when somewhat short (which I don’t often love) I liked it! She always gave it pazzaz and I was never in danger of a bowl cut! LOL! After Natasha left I started to have my hair cut by Becky who I have also liked though not as much as Natasha. I feel that although Becky knows what she is doing and is skilled she is not as artistic or talented as Natasha was. Still, I have had many compliments on cuts from Becky and my hair has retained its shape even while allowing it to grow out after a cut from Becky. She has also always been polite, sweet, on time, etc. My only real complaint is that sometimes it’s hard ot get an appointment quickly and often you have to book an appointment months in advance which can be a drag… Parking too can be a challenge as there is only street parking with meters.Pros + Ambience, nice staff, nice cutsCons – hard to get quick appointments, parking
I recently got my hair done by Olga at Panache. I got a cut and a color. She listened to exactly what I wanted as i showed her magazine pictures and she consulted me on an appropriate hair color before doing anything. I love the cut, but the color is a bit dark. However, I called the next day and Olga replied me immediately saying if I still don’t like it after a week she can redo it. Overall I am very happy with my hair and have been getting many compliments! Panache is sort of on the expensive side but I don’t feel like i overpaid.Cons – They only take cash
