Where is the Best Hair Salon in New York, New York?
I have been with Stanley for five years and am so lucky to have found him. I came to him because my curly, fine hair was overprocessed, damaged and not cut properly for my hair type. In two visits Stanley restored my hair with beautiful color and gave me a cut that suited my lifestyle and my curls. He pays attention to details. I receive a wet and dry cut because he knows the ins and outs of curly hair. Each visit is like the first time with a careful evaluation. Stanley taught me how to care for my color and curls and all of this gave me the confidence to love my hair again. I will always be grateful to him because he takes the time to care each and every time. I have had strangers come up to me and tell me how beautiful my curls look. Stanley is my guy and I would be lost without him.If you have called the salon, you most likely have talked to Miguel, the angel sent from heaven. Miguel will try to make your life easy. I’ve had my hair cut and styled (and permed) by Rodney for almost 10 years and going. He was recommended to me by a friend of mine who swore by him and after having my first hair cut with him, I understood why she would be such a loyal customer. My brother in law has been working in the beauty industry for over 20 years and has an eye for hair cuts and coloring — and he has admired Rodney’s handwork on my hair every year I see him at family functions. I can go there with utter trust that he would do the right thing for me.As for the salon, he had recently moved to Roy Teeluck and I was truly impressed with the care and service I received there – they not only serve the usual tea and coffee but wine! The place is also very cozy and beautiful, and I got a complimentary manicure by Edith, who did an amazing job with my nails.Came out of there glowing with new hair and new nails.Pros + Excellent skills and eye for detail and balance.Cons – None that I can think of.
I was looking for a new colorist and I went to Salon V and asked for Veronica after reading all the rave reviews about her here on citysearch, and let me tell you it’s all true. She’s a magician with color! She totally translated my half assed descriptions and magazine references into a stunning new look. And not even the one I intended to get!!! I walked in with this color in mind, and she very attentively explained to me why that wasn’t a good choice based on the tonality of my skin and color I was pointing to in the magazine. After carefully listening to me, she gave me great advice and showed me examples of color combinations. I was very impressed with how much time she set aside to work with me and all the while, she was being completely unpretentious and friendly; I think she’s the only stylist I’ve ever laughed so much with..Veronica spent a lot of time coloring my hair, using a really quality demi-permanent color that turned out beautifully.
