Where is the Best Hair Removal in Austin, Texas?
I highly recommend hair stylist Emily Hatfield for a haircut and/or color. Finally, after 5 years of being in the Austin area, I have found a true expert and professional in the hair industry. I have long, straight, heavy hair; that I find sometimes, female stylists have a hard time handling. I’m typically open to whatever hair cutting technique the stylist wants to use, as long as they ‘keep the length’ 😉 …but extremely picky when choosing color …having dark brown hair, it’s easy to look like a zebra. Emily immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease with her warm, yet outgoing personality, and vast knowledge of hair color and care products. I loved that I could leave so much of the decision making up to her, and came out looking like a million bucks. I live and work in Round Rock, so when my appointment went a little past 8pm, I was surprised and delighted at how welcome the staff still made me feel; and didn’t try to rush me out. I got word of this place by the Groupon of the day. I had my best friend in town from FL, so we wanted to pamper ourselves. I called about 2 weeks in advance for a Jan. 2nd appointment. I had no problems and the person was very pleasant at the Lamar location. She mentioned we would receive a call to confirm our appointments. I didn’t get one and figured due to New Year’s Day, it might have been missed. I called before our scheduled time on Jan. 2nd to find out she booked it for Feb. 2nd. I was very distraught and unhappy about this mistake. The lady on the phone was very polite and did what she could to save the situation by trying to rebook. Â The times were inconvenient for the next day. We figured out a time to reschedule but I had to bring up if there’s anything she could do since we were so inconvenienced. I like to come off as a guy who doesn’t care too much about his hair, but my wife and a few other people on this planet no better. Up until discovering David Tienda at Aziz (South location, on Brodie), I was a wanderer — each month searching for a new stylist whom I didn’t want to pop in the throat for f-ing up my locks. Let me tell you, I got around. David not only listens carefully and does what you tell him to do with your hair, he makes great suggestions based on your hair type, face shape, zodiac sign, social security number, what have you. He’s a wizard with the scissors and a seer with the shears. He’s a great conversationalist, too — able to wax eloquent and exhibit wit without losing focus on the quaff he’s cutting.He’s like a stylist ninja, with personality and humor. Seriously, the dude’s talented, and a good guy. Give him a shot — you won’t be sorry. Pros + Mr. T, no uppity staff, ample parking (huge plaza lot)Cons – nada
I recently treated my mother to a haircut/conditioning treatment at Max Fx for her birthday. I was very excited about the day because she never gets the opportunity to go anywhere nice to be pampered. However, upon arriving, my proud smile quickly faded and turned to embarrasment when, while standing at the counter waiting to be acknowledged, I was completely ignored for at least a full minute by not one, but three people. For the amound of money I was spending on my tight budget I had hoped and expected for much better sercive, (and respect). Fortunately, thanks to Amanda, my mothers birthday experience was salvaged by friendly service, a beautiful haircut and a wonderful pampering treatment at the shampoo bowl. I received a great cut from Juan to, who was also very friendly and professional. Thank you Amanda and Juan. Overall a nice facility. A good distance from Austin but great view of the lake. Hotel/Condominium. Restaurant on site was ok, pool and pool bar were closed during our visit.
