Where is the Best Hair Removal in Austin, Texas?
I am a young woman who was sick of shaving my legs and bikini line, especially because I got really irritated and red, which looked almost worse than hair! I had looked into laser hair removal but I didn’t really know anything about it. I decided to call and get some information. The receptionist was so nice and friendly that I felt comfortable even over the phone. I scheduled a free consultation and was given all the information I needed in a timely manner and scheduled my first appointment! So far I have had three treatments and the results are amazing! Not having to shave for almost two months between treatments is a blessing. To begin with I was weirded out about undressing in front of a stranger, but the technicians made me relax before I was even in the room. I have sent several friends to Alite and they are all equally as happy with the service and the affordibility. It took me years to build up the nerve to go in for a brazilian wax! After spending time Googling, researching & reading the reviews, I decided to go to Tara’s Salon in Austin. Now, I’m wondering WHY I waited so long! Tara did a superb job! She made me feel instantly relaxed, was very quick & professional. The area where they do the waxing is bright, clean & private. You go up to the second floor (using a majestic, grand staircase), you have access to a bathroom, & the wax is on a roller, so it takes less time to apply. Also, Tara is very quick to pull off the hair & makes conversation while she’s doing it. Sure the more sensitive areas made me cringe for a SECOND… but she was thorough & pleasant & didn’t make it feel awkward or weird! I will definitely be going back. I do recommend bringing your own towel, though, for the wax, if you’re modest. I also had my legs waxed & again, zippity quick & smooth… and had my brows & upper lip threaded. I first met Tanya, who is one of the Barocca stylists, when she was working at a different salon in Austin. I was referred to her when the lady who usually did my hair was unavailable. Tanya gave me a great haircut and I have been going to her ever since. I was a little hesitant to go to Barocca at first, since I was used to seeing Tanya at her previous location. However, the fact of the matter was that Tanya had given me the best haircuts of my life and it would be foolish to go elsewhere. (Whether it is just a bangs trim, or an entire cut, I trust her to give me a look that will compliment my face and personality.) I got to the salon and realized that Barocca has a style all it’s own: from the earthy decor to the scent of fresh coffee and revitalizing salon products. I recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a fresh and flattering look and a welcoming environment. ((…and who iSN’T looking for that?? :o))
I am writing to let everyone searching for ?the best? salon in Austin for highlights and lowlights to stop looking any further. Go to Skye Salon and ask for Laura (although the others are likely just as good). I am a lawyer from LA and I am particular about my look for work. I had gone to Vidal Sassoon for more than 20 years because the quality of hair coloring and cutting is consistently outstanding. I tried two other places in Austin and at one, I was there for hours and at the other, my hair was over-processed. A nightmare to try to fix. I read reviews on CitySearch and found Laura at Skye Salon. I checked the reviews at Yelp too and took a chance. You should too. Laura is excellent with color –both highlights and weaving in darker shades– a superb stylist, experenced and thus quick. The rates are reasonable and comparable to other salons. After seeing all the recent awards and great reviews I am absolutely certain that I will be rejoining Body Business after my current gym membership is over. The gym I go to now is cheaper and has more availability in regards to hours, but those are the ONLY advantages. Everyone at BB makes you feel welcome and are genuinely happy you are there. If you are intimidated by gyms and the “mascots” that parade around at other gyms, then BB is the place to feel safe and actually grow and get healthy in a comprehensive way. The staff are very helpful and you really do look forward to working out! The members are also friendly and they have big open windows with a great outdoor view and beautiful scenery. My current gym has NO windows and lots of obnoxious televisions playing the latest J-Lo song, it’s filthy and the staff could care less that you are there. If you are looking for cheap that’s what you’ll get, but if you want genuine quality and better overall health, then BB is well
