Where is the Best Hair Color in Portland, Oregon?
When I moved to Portland from San Diego, I had a haircut I loved, and went to a stylist for a trim, telling her I wanted the same cut, just a trim. She cut my shoulder-length, layered cut short, and I was miserable. After it started growing out, I read about DLS and decided to give Amie a try after reading that she was a curly hair specialist. I showed her a picture of the style I liked, and she trimmed my hair and suggested that I wait 3 months for my next trim in order for the length to grow back. I left the salon feeling pretty again, and knew I had found the perfect stylist. I loved my cut, and it continued to look great for the entire 12 weeks until my next appointment, which I think is absolutely amazing! Now, 10 months later, I have my length back, AND a beautiful haircut., which I receive lots of compliments on. Amie cuts my hair dry, which I think has a lot to do with the wonderful way the cut turns out, because I have hair that looks completely different when it’s wet
I cant say enough wonderful things about Nickol…. Im so impressed with her work on my hair. Nickol has been my stylist for years and I cant imagine having anyone but her color or cut my hair. She is a genius when it comes to color! She talks with you on what you are wanting done and really cares about the health of your hair which Ive never encountered before. Im used to paying someone to do what I ask and never received any input, even if what Im asking for will damage my hair, which I may not be aware of. Nickol wants the best for your hair and gives tips on keeping your hair beautiful. Im always completely satisfied with the results. After one such appointment, Nickol described to me the thermal straightening process after I complained one rainy day how my hair just seems a mess for so many months during the year since portland is so rainy. We did the thermal process on my hair and I absolutely love it! I can do my hair in the morning and even take the Max to work on a rainy day a
I had been looking for someone to trust with my hair and i read so many good reviews on Jena I decided to giver her a try. It was very convenient since she starts at 6am so I can get my hair done before I need to go into work. I went in the first time not knowing what I wanted and some how it turned out better than what I could have dreamed of. I recently went back to get highlights in to give my hair texture for an up-do for a wedding I was in, She listened to what I needed I gave me highlights that look natural, hide when I have my hair down, and makes my hair look amazing when its up. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I have never done anything dramatic to my hair but in her hands I feel like anything she does will make me look amazing in the end. My next appointment is for a Keratin treatment to straighten out my frizzy hair. She gave me a lot of information on it, and gave me good advice whether I should do it or not because of my hair type. She knows her stuff! I wouldn’t place
I have been going to Bliss for quite awhile now and meaning to get on here and rave about it. I have nothing but excellent things to say. My stylist is Nicole and she is nothing short of an expert at what she does. I am constantly complimented on my cuts and color. If I tell her what I want, she does precisely what I ask. If I leave it up to her, she comes up with something awesome. She always goes out of her way to accommodate me and my schedule. I can tell that she loves what she does and she is definitely a perfectionist, as someone else in another review mentioned. Additionally, the salon is always clean and relaxing. Ethan at the front desk is always hilarious and friendly and the other stylists are fun to listen to and be around. Any time I call and leave a voice mail, someone calls me back well within the day and is ready to help me. Good stuff, Nicole, Ethan and Bliss! Keep it up! Pros + Friendly, accomodating, perfect service, good vibes Cons – None
Tesla Rocks! and not in a bad 80s hair band kind of way…I read all about Vanity Junkie on Citysearch (along with many other salons) and decided to give it a try. I typically go to local schools (Aveda and Paul Mitchell) for services as I don’t get to riled up about salons in general. I wanted a new look and wasn’t sure what it was exactly, just something different than I usually have. I walked into VJ was welcomed and waited for my appt on a comfy couch. Tesla greeted me and took time to discuss what we should do to change my look, she had a lot of good ideas. Her skills and personality made the appt fun and time flew. Now I have a great style that works for when I let my unruly wavy hair do its thing and can be sleekly styled with a flat iron. I will be back to see them! You should go too for a welcoming and fun salon experience without all the “we’re too hip and cool for you” attitude of salons in the Pearl or downtown…Next time I am asking about the Bar mentioned in other revi
