I’ve had my hair cut at salons before but they always asked what I wanted done, I always said to just do it the way it is but shorter. This time I decided I would ask for recommendations. I did my due diligence and decided to go to Defining Image. I asked Ellery what he thought and he gave me his recommendations as far as the cut. I then asked him about coloring the grey. I’ve never done this before and was hesitant. He put me at ease.Watching Ellery cut my hair, I could tell immediately I was in the hands of a master. Not just the wham bam kind of cuts I usually get. He’s also a woodworking (as am I) and I suspect that accounts for his meticulous nature. The haircut is the best I’ve ever gotten! Why didn’t I know about this when I was younger and had all my hair? Then it came time for the color. His apprentice (I can’t remember his name – sorry!) did the coloring. I was nervous but just went with it, telling myself “it’s only hair.” When we were done and it really didn’t take very

Where does a person begin in describing why others should go out on a limb, believe a review and trust a stranger with a piece of themselves that reflects who they are…their hair? Here is my feeble attempt~First of all, my apologizes to Blades Hair Studio, I should have done this years ago. I must admit that I wasn’t sure I wanted to advertise to the world wide web that I had finally found the last hairstylist to ever touch my hair. His skill goes beyond maintaining a highly successful business (in an industry where salons success rate is very minimual) and retaining 90% of his clients. From the thorough life-style interview to analyzing your facial structure, body shape and skin tone, he has already begun processing possibilities and options for the color and cut that would best suit you and your life. His name is David. He has taken me on a journey through my hair. I have given him my trust and bar-none, the outcome is far better than I could have ever asked of him. I h

After spending many hours on the road trying to hold onto my stylist in Eugene I decided it was time to make a switch. I had been with my other stylist so long it was hard to think about trusting my hair color and cut to someone else! Upon a recommendation from a friend I decided to try Bella Pearl Salon… and I was very pleasantly surprised. The salon is very nice and modern… and the option to have a glass of wine after work isn’t bad either. But by far the best part of this experience was my stylist, Anna. She immediately put me at ease and was very friendly. After our initial appointment I made the permanent switch to make Anna my stylist and have not looked back since. She is always friendly and welcoming. She does a great job with coloring my hair either darker or lighter depending on my request and does a great job listening to what I’d like. I would highly recommend her… and have to my future mother in law! Pros + Knowledgeable hair stylists, friendly staff, modern

Pelo a Salon lacks the weighty pretension of other downtown salons. I got a short cut and complex color done here. Colin did a masterful job with my color. He is filled with the knowledge of an academic hair chemist and he’ll tell you everything you ever wanted to know (or didn’t!) about the chemicals used on our heads. I love my color, and it’s lasted longer than usual. I couldn’t figure out the cut and went back after a few days to have it altered, which Colin graciously did for free. But I still couldn’t do anything with it. Perhaps I didn’t communicate my needs well. I’d be willing to give him another shot. The fee was higher than I had expected, and the salon wasn’t accepting credit cards at that time. (They were going to start soon though.) I would have appreciated that information up front.Pros + Atmosphere, SkillCons – No credit cards
