Where is the Best Gym in San Francisco, California?
Overall it’s a great club to workout. Lately I hear more and more complaints: lines for showers and being kicked off equipment by a trainer who needs it for his client. My biggest complaint is that they swear the pool temps are 81F. I know they are much colder and as someone that’s not a masters swimmer, it’s too darn cold. They have some teachers teach too many classes which leads to bordom in style. They have been promising a second floor addition every year for the past 4 years. I wonder if they will pull through this year. Pros + ClassesCons – Pool temp
Diakadi Body is the best gym with the best trainers! This gym definitely has the best environment for Personal Training, truly offering a “Zen-like” experience compared to any other gym I’ve been to. Diakadi offers a whole new approach to Personal Fitness as its a gym where the sole focus is Personal Training. When I first began training here six months ago, I wanted to find a gym, where I could focus on my fitness goals. I was training for my first Marathon, the San Francisco Marathon and wanted to take my running to the next level. I’ve always been an avid runner, but knew I needed to work on my core if I really wanted to become a faster and stronger runner. Thanks to my trainer Luis Chirinos, my core and physical endurance has become stronger than it has ever been in my life! Since I have been training with Luis I have ran several PR’s and my 5K Race time is now faster than it was in High School. I even placed 4th overall in a recent Race in San Francisco and have had sever
Definitely better than YMCA and 24 hour in terms of equipment and space. You pay for it though. Not the most attentive staff behind the counter. In my first week there, I saw two examples of staff doing their best to ignore customers. Usually I don’t expect much from someone working at a low paying, non-career job, but when you are paying this much money you would like to see staff who actually seem like they give a d__mn. If you want a good variety of equipment and a not too crowded place to work out, go here or to the J center. They both cost about the same.Pros + large cardio room; plenty of machines, weights, and equipment; free parkingCons – the 2 "free" training sessions are a joke; i didn’t get real training until I paid for it; pool can be crowded
I joined this gym about three months ago. I told the person who signed me up that I was mainly interested in aerobics classes, particularly during lunch-time.Now that I have been a member for a while, I can comment. The instructors are GREAT, among the best I have ever had. However, the classes are PACKED. The step class was so crowded that women were stealling each others’ steps. Finally, belatedly, they started a waiting list. In the turbo kick box class at lunch, you don’t have the step issue, but it gets extremely crowded, dangerously so, given that people are kicking. We eve nhad a pregnant woman in the class for a while with everyone kicking around her. And if you get one show-off in the class who has big wide kicks and ddrmatically big movements, or conversely, someone who can’t step to save her life, it can be really uncomfortable. Also, it is EXTREMELY HOT in the classes. People have complained about this repeatedly, but the problem is still there. We came in last week and
