Where is the Best Group Dining in Oakland, California?

This charming European restaurant provided the perfect setting for my son and daughter-in-laws wedding rehearsal dinner. The owners we very helpful and available to me in planning this event. The list of food options for the individualized event menu were extensive providing something for all diners. The wait staff was pleasant and interactive. My only suggestion would be that waiters be a bit more attentive to the tables between courses to be sure guest requests, drink orders etc. are readily addressed. The food was delicious and presented well. Many positive comments about the food by all in attendance. I would recommend Le Bateau Iver to anyone planning a dinner or banquet event.

This is a bar with a kitchen in the back. The lines can be long , so a wait at the bar is common, and the bar has everything you need. When you are seated the wine list is very creative and the flights of wines , beers or spirits are lovely. Oh yes they also serve food. The menu varies week to week this a few staples.I always order the mussles in pernod, the rillettes are done very fatty in the french style (not everyone’s cup of tea), as a rule the offereing vary from the amazing to the mearly good. You can sit in the dark swoopy art nouveaux inspired front room which shares space with the bar at tables for four, or the common table down the middle. If you want a bit more space and quiet, ask to be sat in the more staid back room, which is basically the old deck behind the house that has been tented. I am the proud parent of a sophisticated daughter, but this is one restraunt we have never brought her to. The food is too weird, and the other partons too loud for her delicate sensibi

Golden Lotus is completely veg and has tons of mock meats and typical East Asian vegan fare. my favorites: the cashew chicken, sweet and sour chicken, tofu with eggplant, and any of the soups. prices are reasonable ($7-$10 for most entrees) and they also offer a lunch menu ($4-$6) and a cafeteria style lunch option that is fast and cheap. i have eaten there many times in the last three years and, just for the record, have always found it to be clean, friendly, and, a-hem, bug-less.

I went to Tanjia on a Tuesday night. The setting is very interesting, everyone is seating around the dance floor which prompts for interactions with other guests. The food is really good, traditional although the service can be fairly slow. (Who cares when you are spending that time with an amazing friend?) Staff is very friendly. Belly Dancing is super fun and interactive (expect to be pulled on the dance floor to do a little show yourself). The ceiling and walls have been covered to look like a tent which is really original, along with pillows etc. I would advise this place to anyone who wants a relaxed, entertaining, un-rushed dinner.Pros + Atmosphere, belly dancing, entertainment

It is possible to eat some great German foods at this establishment – try the salmon in dill sauce if it is on the menu – and drink some excellent German ales on tap. There is a beer garden, most charming during the sunny season, with its views of the oil changing station across the street. Parking is possible (there is small lot next to the restaurant), the waitstaff is quick and friendly and there is live music after 9pm (or is it 8pm) in the corner of the front dining room/bar/lounge area with one or two TV sets. There is an additional dining room in the back and it gets pretty busy in the evening. If you don’ t want to have to dodge rugrats, avoid going too early in the evening. Later in the evening is a much better time for DINKS and singles. Speisekammer remains one of my favorite restaurants in the East Bay, and they are very few of them. Prost!Pros + Salmon, pork, soups, dessertsCons – Children all over the room
