Where is the Best Group Dining in Memphis, Tennessee?

I took my best friend to Paulette’s for lunch last week and was dissapointed with the restaurant for a couple of reasons. First, the seating for two is so close to other people that there is no way to have a personal conversation. I ordered what I thought might be a healthy alternative wich was Salmon on a bed of spinach. The salmon was tasty but submerged in a thick white cheese sauce and the spinach was fresh….but deep fried. The bottom of the plate was soaked with oil. My girlfriends experience was really not much better. It had been years since I have been there and remember the food being much better. Just my opinion.

This is my favorite place to eat in town, and only part of that has anything to do with the food. First of all, its a coursed meal so it takes awhile. If you plan on having all four courses, Cheese, Salad, Meat, and Desert, then plan on staying for at least two hours. This is not the type of meal that your in a rush to complete. The attraction of a place like this is the atmosphere and intimacy. The lighting is low the tables allow a good deal of privacy and the nature of the meal means a lot of communal sharing and the pace of the dinner means a lot of time for conversation. The wait staff is incredibly attentive and the know the intricacies of the menu inside and out. Ask them questions about everything you order and they will give you all the information you could possibly desire. One of the best things about this place is the sauces for the meat course. They make up all the sauces for the meat course fresh. Ask what your server likes the best and have them bring out as ma

My wife’s step-dad took us here last night and it was really some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. It is a Brazilian Churrascaria, which means that there are no menus. There is only a fantastic forty item salad bar with something for everyone. My favorite item was hard bread and fresh pepper-marinated buffalo mozzarella to put on it. When youre ready for the main course, you have a card that you can turn from red to green when you want meat. The Gauchos then swarm around you with various meats that have been grilled on skewers and cut off pieces for you at your request. They had top sirloin, filet mignon with bacon, without bacon, or with garlic, flank steak, leg of lamb, lamb chops, pork tenderloin, barbeque ribs, chicken, and I think shrimp on request. All of these are choice meats grilled to perfection. The meats come with garlic mashed potatoes, polenta, cheese rolls, and fried cinnamon bananas (these are there to clear the pallet when moving from one meat to the next). T

Eclectic & outstanding One of only two such spots, the other being in NYC, the atmosphere is lively (and pretty loud – don’t go here for intimacy), the menu is a creative and eclectic blend of cuisines, and the food is almost always outstanding. (It IS eclectic, and they DO sometimes take chances, so just be sure you know what you’re getting before you order, so you’re not surprised and disappointed; if you follow that rule, you will not likely be disappointed.)

Corky’s has got to be the best bar-b-q in the U.S. I am from Philadelphia and I was there visiting and my friend told me if you don’t like Corky’s well…there just isn’t any better. The dry ribs are excellent for those who really don’t like barbeque sauce and if you appreciate fresh homemade coleslaw and yeast rolls this is the place for you. Here is a tip if you go make sure you don’t eat anything before going because you will get full very quckly..and for all that you get…it is not expensive at all!Pros + Inexpensive, Fast Service, Welcoming AttitudeCons – Small Parking lot
