Where is the Best Group Dining in Jacksonville, Florida?
During a late lunch for two after walking the Timuacuan Preserve we tried this Olive Garden location by Regency Mall. We were promptly seated with a minimal wait to a nice corner table away from the major walkways. Our server was very friendly and timely with everything during our visit. She offered good recommendations on the new menu items and was probably the best I’ve had in town so far. Too bad I’m terrible with names or I would recommend her. For an appetizer we ordered a sampler of Stuffed Mushrooms and Calamari. The mushrooms were delicious and the calamari was cooked just right and not greasy in the least. The usual drik order of a Strawberry-Mango Margarita, blame the gf for hooking me on them too, was very refreshing. For our main courses, I had the Braised Beef & Tortelloni and she ordered the Five Cheese Ziti al Forno. Not the romantic spot at ALL. Went there for an anniversary and will NEVER go back. It is so stuffy and not at all a romantic sitting. I could have a better and more romantic time being attacked by ants at a picnic along the river. The food was AWFUL. I had prime rib which was very DRY and had NO TASTE. I have had better food and better experience at many other smaller places. I just feel really terrible because lots of thought was put into picking this place and was very disappointed. Could NOT wait to leave and did NOT stick around for dessert.
By far one of the top restaurants in Jacksonville! I am a native of 47 years and this is always the place we celebrate the big moments in our families lives. The Sunday buffet is the best in town and very reasonable – 21.95 for adults. This includes a carving Station with roast and ham, a seafood station with Chilled Shrimp, Crab Legs & Smoked Salmon with bagels and Cream Cheese, a breakfast station with Bacon & Sausage, Home Fries, Grits & Scrambled Eggs with Cheese, Made to Order Omelettes and Belgian Waffles, Muffins & Pastries and excellent eggs benedict, a salad station, a huge assortment of fruits and many assorted Breads. They also have fish and chicken dishes that are incredible. It is a breakfast and lunch (brunch) buffet. In additon they have a variety of deserts.The view is one of the best in Jacksonville.
