It’s difficult to properly compare this restaurant to other places because of it’s unique menu selection. While the food was good, there wasn’t anything that really stood out. I took my friend here for a nice meal where we could chat in peace. I had spicy beef (a beef stir fry with good fresh vegetables, touches of Thai and Chinese flavors) and she had Escarole. The fish was done properly well, but a tad salty. The 3 types of potato side dishes were done fairly well, but they don’t stand out at all. Overall, while a nice place to eat, it really can’t stand up to a restaurant that focuses on one type of cuisine. The service people were quite responsive, but that’s not the reason why I came here. I guess I expected a little more; I would come again, but I would know the limits of my expectations of the food. Pros + A nice selection of food, nice wine menu, adequate pricesCons – Nothing done to the level of excellence

Wishbone is a wonderful southern style restaurant with a funky flair. The restaurant is large, decorated with eclectic decor, and while it gets crowded sometimes, the “adult” (formally the smoking) section, is more quiet and private. As a vegetarian, there’s quite a wide variety of things to eat. I love the ‘Hoppin’ John’ dish- black eyed peas, rice, mixed veggies, topped with chedder cheese. Yummmy! They also have many veggie side dishes, and the best mashed potatoes ever! Also, you get a lot of food for your money here, the portions are huge! The service is friendly and catering to the patrons. They also have a great bar. I love going in for hearty soul food, and unwinding with a cocktail. I wish the veggie dishes were slightly more spicy, but other than that, Wishbone rocks! I also adore their trademark snearing poodle too, she so cute!Pros + Wide variety of food, Great value, Delicious fresh foodCons – parking sometimes bad

My wife and I had eaten at the Roy?s on the Big Island and the one in Kauai, so we were anxious to try Chicago’s version. We were not disappointed. It was a little piece of paradise right here in the big city. But the decor wasn’t necessarily the highlight of our night. Although it was nicely appointed and had a tropical ambiance, the service and food were the high points of this highly recommended experience. Two of the wait staff assisted us, a woman and a man. The woman provided us with insight into the food and the male was the Sommelier of sorts, who knew the nuances of the extensive wine list. We chose a Sangiovese that worked extremely well with all our selections. We began with the Maine lobster dim sum and the brie, ricotta, and wild mushroom ravioli, which we shared. They were both extremely fresh and unbelievably sumptuous, leaving our mouths begging for more, but we had to move on. Next, we shared a mixed baby green salad, the least expensive salad on the menu, but
