Where is the Best Group Dining in Chicago, Illinois?
Overall, a great place to go. Expect to spend 200-250 for two people at least if you are drinking 2 or more drinks a piece or wine. But large martinis, great, informative waiters and beautiful decor make this place a must visit. I have been to the Vegas/Palms Nine and I think the Chicago version is better. We asked for local club and bar venues (Ghost bar is right upstairs also) and the bartender came back with a list and detailed what to expect at each place and their closing times. Great job by him. Both our meals were very good, but they slighltly overcooked our ordered rare lamb chops. Not a big deal as there were still good. My bone-in Filet option was a staggering 68 bucks. Good, but on a return visit I would choose the standard filet or one of the cheaper steak versions and use the extra money on an appetizer or more drinks. The caesar salad very well could have been the best I have ever had (no anchovies per request). Some small flaws but worth the visit in Chicago’
WOW! What a great restaurant! Great experience! Make sure you go on an empty stomach. Also, don’t forget to turn over your coaster. My daughter forgot, and had about 3 “Gauchos” surrounding her ready to fill her plate. The service and food are awesome. Don’t forget to order their signature drink/dessert after dinner. I went here for dinner because it was convenient to my location, was suggested to be reasonably priced, and had outdoor seating. They also accepted opentable.com reservations.The wine selection was good, and even wines by the glass were good. My friend said his meal was delicious, as was the amuse, but my “Kobe” beef was simply fatty beef. Also, the “reasonably priced” part was a joke. This site says average $15-25/entree. The cheapest thing was $22, and most were $28+. 2 entrees and 4 glasses of wine = $100+ before tip! The quality of food (at least mine) did not demand this price. Also, we were late (but called), and were the only ones in the place. The reataurant marked us as late, reducing my opentable points. Outdoor seating is nice, and the chef obviously has the ability, but the cost suggests you wait until they figure it out.
talk about old Italian rustic charm! My family love going to this place because of their great food and of course, their spacious, cozy and very homey arrangement of the place. I love their ministrone, antipasto and their thin crust pizza. these have become a regular order for us every visit. also love their chicken parmigiana, ravioli and frutta di mare. all their food is great but I have to say that these are my personal favorites!if you haven’t been here, you should drop by and see for yourself how great this place is. worth every penny!Pros + minestrone, wine, pizza, place
