Where is the Best Group Dining in Charlotte, North Carolina?
Our party of three all had Italian. Everything was excellent, from the service to best Italian food with Sinatra in background to a quite ambience. Best we’ve had since moving to Charlotte area from NY. Also enjoyed a very good white wine, Avondale (S. Africa) which was recomended by our server, Lisa. We’ll be back!!Hey Frankies -Wonder where can we buy that wine?
The Canjun Queen is set in an old house and the atmoshpere does take you to another place. The tables are somewhat close so you are eating with strangers right next to you and in your conversation. The server was not able to fit inbetween the tables to the left or right of ours and had to serve from behind me, so initamcy is not available. The food was freshly prepared, but the Chef does not need to be so cautious with using salt and pepper as everything did lean to the bland side. One real critique I feel would be the Gumbo. Gumbo should be rich and thick with depth, this Gumbo was very thin and tomato-boullion like. It was fresh tasting but not the deep, rich taste I know Gumbo should be. The Shrimp and Grits were good but Creole sauce was tastelss. Despite the food being less than what expected, my wife and I liked this place and will return.Pros + The restaurant building is interesting; food is freshly madeCons – Food is bland, not at all what execpted for a Cajun place
This is an incredible restaurant. The food is fantastic. You MUST try the barbecue shrimp appetizer. You get more than your moneys worth with the entrees. Be sure to ask about the daily specials because they are always great. The service at Cajun Queen is wonderful as well. The wait staff really knows what they are doing. The live Dixieland jazzband enhances the atmosphere perfectly.
I love going here with my friends. The location is just awesome the view is great from the restaurant and as for the food while I wouldn’t quite call it fine dining, but hey it’s a bar so I guess they do pretty good for being a bar. It’s just a fun atmosphere to come to and hang out with your friends.
I recently moved to the Charlotte area and I have been looking for authentic German Fare since arriving. Finally, I found this little gem here on city search and I could not be more pleased. The food was delicious. Honestly, I have not found a single dish yet i have not thoroughly enjoyed. The comments about the wurst platters are absolutly spot on. The knockwurst, in particular, is to die for. Its so buttery that I am getting a bit hungry talking about it now. A couple of suggestions to those who eat there:1. Try the jagerschnitzel both as it is listed on the menu (with pork cutlets) and try it with the breaded veal cutlets. The Hunter Sauce accents both extremely well.2. Join The Beer Club! It truly is worth it!!!3. Try the Black Forrest Cake. It truly is chocolate cake and cherry heaven.Anyhow, swing by sometime and enjoy. Incidentally, to the reviewer from Louisiana… I am from New Orleans myself. While I love my spicy food, this style of cooking is still
