Where is the Best Group Dining in Austin, Texas?
Have had a calzone and the Stromboli, love the dough and they are large! The only thing I have a complaint with is they need to have a “special” or something as I like onions, green peppers, pepperoni etc and there is no way I am paying extra for each ingrediant so what starts at about 7 dollars ends up about 11-12–that is too much. Can get a special at other places, where they do charge a bit more, but honestly, one is not using more ingrediants, just less of each. Other than that I would probably eat there more often.Pros + Good good crust on Calzone and StromboliCons – Over priced once you add additional items.
I ordered the sampler – quattro al foirno , manicotti , lasanga, etc.. plus the fried mozzerella , and bread … it was good , the sauce especially was yummy and the ingredients seemed very fresh. I have only ordered take out , but the restaurant seems like very cozy place, and nice people. .. had some difficult re-ordering the first person I spoke with didn’t know about this option…I like the location centralPros + authentic fresh, portions, sauceCons – ordering
We always like the LOCAL recommendations for eating……….interestingly enough, it was not our hotel Valet, but he was a young man living in Austin, his whole life. We followed his suggestion, and were not disappointed!! Pecan crusted catfish to die for!!! Deep fried asparagus…..only in Texas!!! It was very good, but back to our Med diet!!! i sat at the sushi bar and had briana as my server. she seemed to have great knowledge of the menu and right off the bat brought up the specials. my date and i ordered a bottle of sake and basically left our sushi up to alan our sushi chef.he started us with torched escolar which was fabulous and then a few off menu items such as yellow tail with some kind of an orange sauce and goat cheese.the kitchen food was also fabulous. it was happy hour so we got some calamari and pot stickers for only 5 dollars each. the pot stickers had some cherries with it which was awesome.my favorite app was the blue crab cake. it had a puree with a curry taste to it as well as some green sauce. not sure what that was but it was great.all in all everything was great. the manager even came up to ask us how everything was. i highly recommend this place. sitting at the sushi bar was a great time. the sushi chefs were drinking with us and all in all it was a full atmosphere.Pros + fresh fish, grea
The ambience is wonderful, the service is great and the food is excellent. We will go back in a heartbeat. It is so nice to have this quality of restaurant in Austin!The portions are very big. We thoroughly enjoyed everything, although the minestrone is a bit thicker than is classic and had no legumes. The salad dressing and all the sauces were excellent and rich; The boar shanks were so tender they melted in your mouth and the pork chop was thick and juicy with a fabulous marsala sauce. With a bottle of wine and tip (no dessert or coffee) we spent $75, but could have ordered much less and left full.Pros + Great happy hourCons – no parking
