Where is the Best Group Dining in Albany, New York?
Every time we go to the Outback, we have amazing service, perfectly cooked food and great fun! Managers are constantly walking around making sure you are enjoying your meal. Wait staff has only a few tables each so most times they are taking care of a need I didn’t even realize I had. Dinner time waits can be long, but if you call in advance and put your name on the wait list you shouldn’t have long to wait upon arrival. Kudos to the person grilling those steaks! I’ve never had a steak that wasn’t cooked to perfection!
I enjoy going to the Barnsider- it has great ambience , good value and service- but disagree that it is a great steakhouse. The steaks offered are only sirloins and filets and, while decent, are really ordinary and not as good as you can get elsewhere. No T-bone, porterhouse or ribeye on the menu and the sirloins are not particularly tasty or tender. While The Bears is very good, it’s quite a drive. Albany needs, but does not have, a good steakhouse. Jack’s has better steaks but is a seafood restaurant, not a steakhouse.Pros + ambience, good salad barCons – crowded, long waits
The Ginger Man has a very nice atmosphere–warm, urbane, and friendly, with picture of Irish writers lining the walls. The bar looks good and the drinks list is excellent (it’s a wine bar as well as restaurant). Unfortunately, on a recent trip there, my husband and I were underwhelmed by the food. Our appetizer was nice–fondue–served with perfectly toasted cubes…
