This section of 28th is turning into a shopper’s paradise. Not only can you eat, taste wine, but you can find the most unique and eclectic selection of gifts at places like Butterscotch. Some stores are so tempting because they really understand how to display their merchandise…this is one of those great places where you just keep wandering around, drawn by this great book and that fabulous jewelry. And if you have friends with kids or are an aunt or uncle, this is where to get good quality and useful (but super cute and fun) clothes, books and toys for them. And they are “quality tested” by the families that come in the shop. Kids seem to gravitate to the good stuff and all you have to do is see what the age group you want to buy for is playing with or reading when you are there. As a greeting card freak, I love the selection here.Pros + Great location, unique merchandiseCons – Can be hard to park on weekends

Like any other Anthropologie, this store is expensive but highly appealing to browse. The entire store is like an piece of art in and of itself. Overpriced regular items are a deterrent but the sale section usually has a few finds if you like to dig. Pros + Fun to browseCons – Pricey

Cheeky B is so much fun! It is like a little department store tucked into the Pearl. I love their great selection of cards, the hilarious novelty section, and I can always find something for my grandchild. The housewares items are unique and I love finding just the right gift for family and friends or even myself! I like that they have many local designers as well as national brands so that there is a wide variety of items to explore. They also bring in new merchandise all the time. The staff is helpful and friendly, no pressure to buy, and they gift wrap for free. This is a great place to find that perfect gift for people of all ages and tastes.Pros + Ambience, Selection, Price

I find myself surprised there was no review for WineXing. This is a very nice wine shop…in an out of the way place, but a MUST visit! I attended a tasting last week (Zerba Cellars) & was very impressed how the owners keep up not only their store front, but the website with new wines, vintages, etc. The tastings are very well organized & often a fun learning experience (even if you think you know everything about wine). Their old world selection is very thorough, something here for everyone. I personally prefer Italian & Spainish wines & they always seem to have plenty of selection for both countries, in EVERY price range. Don’t get me wrong, I usually spend at least $50-100 on 2-3 bottles, but I am still saving a great deal of cash because they don’t gough you on the price-overall. Their downfall: they don’t offer case discounts, but if you are interested in trying a nice wine (a bottle at a time) this is a great place to start, including their free Wednesday tasting & weeke

Zeug is a cute little store that’s chock full of accessories, glassware, kids clothing and soy candles. Their handbags are amongst my favor…
