Where is the Best Fireside Dining in St. Louis, Missouri?
There are few places as cozy, no matter what the season, as the Fox and Hounds. Sometimes on a Friday night after work it can be a little crowded, but on a Saturday night, it can be quiet enough to have a pleasant drink and conversation. It’s small, and a bit claustrophobic, but in a sense, that is its charm. Not to mention the competent bartender, and the piano player, who comes in around 10 pm.The pizza is a bit pricey, around $17.00 for a large, but is good. The cheese platter is a good value, and the drinks are reasonably priced. For me it’s not so much a singles bar, but a place to hang out and talk, and have a few good pints, or one of their great drinks. The hot scotch is especially good, any time of year.If you like sitting around in low light, on comfy couches and chairs, then this is the place for you. That being said, let’s keep it a secret, but tell your friends….
i love this location! it overlooks a small lake/pond in forest park. pets are welcome, which is nice, but the ducks are fearless. the server was weird, but not bad. do not order the quesadilla! gross! it was greasy and floppy. the fries were pretty good though. would be a great place to take kids. Pros + awesome locationCons – bad food!
