Where is the Best Fireside Dining in Seattle, Washington?

Everywhere I am seeing restaurants create new deals. Even on a recent visit to Las Vegas, I was surprised to see high end restaurants creating affordable “tasting menus” or 3 course meal deals so people would venture out from cheap buffets to restaurants like Fix and Bellagio, and Barlotta at the Wynn. So imagine my surprise (and disappointment) to see a change to one of my favorite happy hour menus. Where is my pizza with fig and ham, my delectable steak frites that I eat only with my fork, and dream about later? Yes you have still given me a steak sandwich and lamb burger, and even kept the price. But I’m longing for more than the dozen items that you now offer, longing for the happy hour that once offered me a plethora of choices to stimulate the taste buds in my palate. It was a place where I could take me foodie friends as well as my less adventurous friends. I’m not saying I won’t visit you anymore, I’m not even mad at you, because at least the food you had is still wonderful!

My wife and I recently dined at Cafe Juanita for our anniversary. As always, the food was innovative and expertly prepared, and the service was friendly and efficient. In my 12 years of living in Seattle, I haven’t eaten at a better local restaurant. The food comes first here. The atmosphere is elegant, but understated, relaxed, and unpretentious. It is like having an intimate dinner at a good friend’s home (who happens to be an award winning chef). The entrees are all bold and innovative, but they also do the little things well, like the homemade flatbreads, the salads (the baby beet and almond butter salad is amazing), even the house aperitif list is fun – each coming with a bite-sized appetizer. It is a spendy restaurant. With drinks, wine, desert, and coffee, our bill topped $200, but nothing here is ordinary. If you love food, you will not regret the splurge. If trendy presentation is more important to you than flavor, and you prefer a room full of poseurs, wait staff who t

We had a great night there. The food was very favorful, the server was professional but not stuffy, and the wine list was good. Don’t go there if you are in a hurry or don’t want to spend 70.00 plus for dinner. But if you want a good dinning experience, I think it’s in the top 10 in the Seattle area, and I eat out a lot.Pros + A really great night outCons – expect to pay for a quality night

sometimes a place just goes too far making people happy, and they get fat.ok, seriously. like it’s sister “matador west” in west seattle, this restaurant has something beautiful for everyone. i think the happy hour menu is genius, a huge selection of incredible little meals for just a few bucks a piece, and if you’re going to judge a bar on it’s tequila choices, you’re going to fall madly in love with the matador.this is one of those “mexican” food restaurants that specializes in american comfort food style mexican. authenticity is not the point here, pure food bliss is. unfortunately this is the destination for loud stupid kids on weekend nights, so if you have the choice head to matador west on weekends to get away from the amateurs.Pros + possibly the best happy hour in seattleCons – possibly the worst spot to try and enjoy a meal on friday night. (unless you like the zoo)
