Where is the Best Fireside Dining in San Francisco, California?
I went to this restaurant on a double date a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, my blind date didn’t like seafood, which could have been a problem, seeing that we were in a seafood restaurant. Instead, he ordered one of the many other dishes that didn’t contain seafood. Most other places wouldn’t have anything else, but Catch offers dishes other then seafood, which was extremely helpful in this case. We occasionally come back to this place to celebrate where we first met each other. The romantic settings are perfect for a dinner for two.And we absolutely adore the pianist on the platform near the ceiling.Pros + Ambience, Excellent Food Options
This place is truly an experience – walk in and you feel as though you’ve entered a 19th century European mansion. High ceilings, stained glass, fire place… service is unmatched, everyone in here is having a good time. My friend and I thought the dining room looking interested so tried it out – the food was good but a little too fancy for this type of place, and probably needs a bit of refreshing on the menu. I simply love this bar, but probably won’t go back to the restaurant.
The people watching in this restaurant/bar is definitely better than the inconsistent food and drink at this Castro hotspot. Some things on the menu are great and others not. Simple things are better than the complicated or exotic sounding. Not to be missed is the pot roast on mashed potatoes. Nice and reasonable wine list. Pass on the mac n’ cheese.
