Where is the Best Fireside Dining in San Antonio, Texas?
My wife & I celebrated our 7yr anniv by having dinner there this Aug 07…You must call & make reservations which is not a bad thing (last reservations are @ 8:30)…I choose this place because of other reviews and city search had it at #1 most romantic and steak place to go…It is a little out of the way but that is what makes this place special…once you get there it is nestled in the hill country with beautiful scenes…The wait staff was very polite and quick on their toes…Some things that did not make the night like I wanted it was the fact that we were trying to have a romantic dinner and we were seated next to a huge party of woment that were loud and abnoxious (that really broke the romantic evenning i was going for)…The wait staff was polite in saying that they understood, however, there were numerous gatherings going on throughout the establishments and there really was not a place that was quite….I would recommend putting big parties in one place or leave a section w
My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary, approximately 20 years after our first visit. The food was exceptional and well worth the ?above average? prices. We were pleasantly greeted at the front door, seated immediately, and service was superb. We started our meal by splitting the ?Waiters Special salad with the ?White French? dressing. The salad was crisp, fresh and perfectly chilled. The marinated asparagus added an interesting and enjoyable flavor and salad quantity, even split, was ample. My wife had the Ribeye as her entree which she thoroughly enjoyed and I had the Smoked Prime Rib and an added Stuffed Roast Quail. The prime rib was some of the best I have ever eaten (and I am a huge prime rib fan). The flavor of the meat added by the ?witches brew? marinade was wonderful; the smoke was evident, but not overpowering and the meat was cooked exactly to order. To the old lady below me; just because your server asked you if you wanted one bag does not imply that you and your girlfriend are married. I am a server and am completely discouraged by your attitude. Maybe he assumed you were sisters, or that both of the food was going to one house? And, you could’ve told the restaurant you wanted to sit inside rather then outside, from what I know of the restaurant you aren’t even that close to Fredericksburg Road anyways, and it being 7pm at night I highly doubt it was as bad as you are complaining it is. No one made you sit outside you could’ve sat somewhere else.The servers are mediocre. You go to a restaurant for food, you don’t go there to be sat with the worst server ever. The only way you can change that is to ask the manager for a new server, it isn’t THAT hard. The food there is good, but it could be better.
We had a great experience and loved the music. The pizza was great and we were even able to bring our dog along so that was a plus!!! We had great service our server was attentive and friendly. I was a little disappointed that we had to pay a corking fee after just having bought our bottle of wine. Overall great food loved the Fralos sampler!!!! Pros + Friendly atmosphereCons – BYOB fees
After an extremely stressful day, walking into Piatti was an immediate turn around of my husband and I moods. From the moment we walked into the door, we could see that it was a very busy evening. The hostess immediately made eye contact and with a smile told us there would be a 15 minute wait. We decided to go to the bar as we waited and was supprisingly help quickly. After only waiting 10 minutes, a waiter informed us that our table was ready, grab our drinks, and guided us to our table. From there on we were confused to whom was our actual waiter but had the best dinner we’ve had in such a long time. As we left, the waiter opened the door and thanked us again. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you Piatti for making our day better!!
