Where is the Best Fireside Dining in Portland, Oregon?
While some may consider Security restrictions frustrating and inconveinent, I am thankful for them. If I was not able to go to the gate to meet my friend flying in, I would have never decided to wait for the delayed flight inside the Rose City Cafe. Though they were very busy, I was greeted by a very nice gal who was all smiles. She took me to a table where I was out of the traffic flow and things only got better from there! My server was attentive, the food was fresh and hot, the wine suggestions – perfect. I struck up a conversation with a gentleman next to me and he informed me he is a regular. In an airport? Something this operation should be proud of. I will be back!Pros + menu variety, attentive staff, wonderful sushiCons – in airport, in airport, in airport
My male friend treated his three girl friends for dinner. We ordered four appetizers, four entr?es, three desserts, and half-dozen drinks. Everything was delicious. Our waitress was excellent! She was very nice and attentive. The only down side was the old man who refilled our water was rude, and does not know the etiquette of taking plates away from the table. His arm was in front of my face to take something away, and didn’t say “pardon me, miss.” or whatever. One time when he refilled our water, the bottom of the canter was inside of my drink! I alerted my waitress, and she was pounced on the situation and got us a new drink. Regardless, the food was delicious, our waitress was great. I would recommend Fenouil, but I would inform them of the grumpy old server man. However, I must say a younger server was really great and polite. Just say away from that grumpy old man. Pros + Food, service, atmosphereCons – The staff who refilled our water was not nice
I have been there twice in the last three weeks and received wonderful food and good service. The food was really good (not overly salty as other reviews mentioned) and had lots of flavor. I eat a lot of Indian and found that this food had some really unusual and tasty combinations, like their cardamom nut sauce vegetables which are currently my favorite. The portions were pretty small for the price, and the two vegetable based entrees had very small numbers of vegetables. On the other hand, the meat entries, including the one with the shrimp, were almost enough to satisfy two. The naan that comes with the meal is bubbly and large (bigger than two hands), but you only get one piece and have to order more, so plan ahead… I have never had one piece be enough to finish my meal. The dessert menu is a little lacking, with really only one Indian option, the Kulfi (ice cream). The ice cream was great, but out of sync with the rest of the fine dining experience? it came out with meltin
This was my first time in Portland and went to the Ringside for my birthday dinner. I had the chicken breast balsamico and it was the GREATEST chicken I’ve ever had and will probably ever have!!! everyone elses food was spectacular as well. Just some drawbacks…..the service was friendly but the waiter took a VERY long time with everything and we barely saw him throughout the meal. We had a reservation at 9:30pm, so by the time we got there, the restaurant was pretty much cleared out. We were also never given the wine list until after the dinner was over with and we were given the dessert menu with the wine list on the other side. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!! Pros + Great food. Nice ambience.Cons – Very slow service. Not too attentive.
