Where is the Best Fireside Dining in Houston, Texas?
This was our first time going to Cullens. We were in a group of 10-12 people. The service was great. I have read several of these reviews that said other wise and I do not agree. Entire wait staff was great. The cocktails were delicious. I had a Sangria drink well work $8. The food was good in taste but the portions were not all that- expecially for the cost. I had the chicken fried rib eye and I really dont think it was rib eye. It was the thickness of 2 credit cards put together. It was good, but not $18.95 good. My husband had a stuffed chicken breast that was probably the size of a tennis ball, again not work $18.95 in size but good in taste. I would have loved to taste the $149.99 steak they were offering as a specail, but for $149.99, it better serve me for a week. I would recommend this place for a special occassion. They have the Grille @ Cullens that seemed to be more in my range and the food looked good.Pros + Great Drinks & FREE bread & ButterCons – porti
When i walked in i realized it was an actual lodge built in the 1850’s or around that time. There was a river next to it and looked very old timely looking. The food was great in taste and style. The salad looked so beautiful i didn’t want to eat it! This place is sort of pricey, but worth the money. The only down side is the size of the portions. But don’t let it throw you off. ENJOY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Pros + Food and atmosphere was sweet!!!!Cons – Size of mealz 🙁
Where should I begin..well how about I never write reviews but felt I had to in the case of Sonoma. I was told to check this place out by many friends but never had the chance to until last week. Me and my husband went with a few friends..we walked in and the place was packed, right then a table opened up and we were greeted by a lovely young lady who sat us at our table. We were given menus and water right away which was great. The wine list was amazing..as a huge wine drinker this made me so happy, we ordered a great bottle of wine or 2 or 3….and an hour into it we were all hungry. I ordered the NY strip and my husband got the fish which was a salmon..my friends got a pizza..have to say the pizza was amazing! All of the food was great which was a surpirise. The decor was great, they had the fireplace on and the place just oozed sex and romance. I have to say Sonoma is the best wine bar in Houston and let’s be honest, there are alot in this city but none on this level. We w
I recently went to the Remington Restaurant with my girlfriend this past weekend. To say the least, it was phenomenal. I was warmly greeted by the hostess, Kristen, who gladly showed me to my table. I was then promptly greeted by our waiter, Nelso. He was very knowledgeable about the food menu and wine list. I started off with the goat cheese salad, which was so beautifully plated; I almost didn’t want to eat it. After the salad, I was then greeted with another masterpiece, my entree. I had the Fruit de Mare. Eating out a lot, I was scared to order a seafood dish because it is often overcooked, but the lobster, scallop, and shrimp couldn’t have been cooked any better. I summed up my dining experience with a Creme Brulee, which also was delightful. My girlfriend had the Tortilla Soup, the Duck Sampler, and ended with a Trio of Chocolate. She told me that it was the best restaurant experience shes has ever had. I think my girlfriend was a little upset I was more into my food
We love this place. Great food – try the curries on Wednesday evenings, a choice from 7 curries and a pint for $16.Every week night finds some special, Steak, Burger, Curry, Meatballs, Fish & Chips, and all top notch food. The beers’s a tiny bit pricey – although you can always drink “lite” beer for next to nothing. Loads of choice, real British Ale and a British Boozer atmosphere to match. The star of the show is George, the surfer barman, if you’re lucky enough to get in while he’s working, he’s incredibly knowledgeable about what’s going on in Houston and elsewhere, and will always point you inthe right direction about what’s on the menu, and more importantly, what’s off the menu – there’s always loads of stuff not listed.Just try it.Pros + Great Food, great beer, and the surfer barman – fantasticCons – A tiny bit pricey but hey, it’s worth it.
