Where is the Best Fireside Dining in Chicago, Illinois?
Recent trip to Chicago landed us at Tsunami after being recommended by the hotel’s concierge service. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great and it was quite the place for people watching, if that helps to your dining recommendations. The food itself was what you would expect but didn’t leave you craving to come back the next day. All in all it does the job a Japanese restaurant should and wins extra points for the ambiance.
I’ve been to Il Mulino now three or four times. We have not had any problems with the food, nor the service. It is a more relaxed atmosphere, but they start you off with a lot of food immediately after being sat down so you don’t starve while making food selections, etc. Their menu is HUGE, and there is a lot to look over. I’ve brought my parents here last time they came to visit-and my father is so in love with it, we had to go again two nights later. (he’s very Italian from long island, and when he finds a restaurant he likes, he talks about it constantly…like an Italian would) At the end of your meal, you are served a complimentary shot of house infused grappa. Very good.Expect it to be a longer dinner, and expensive. If you like to not be rushed, this is your place. It can be loud at times, but the mansion it is in is quite beautiful, so you have to forgive the acoustics. Pros + Great food, good service, unique atmosphere/settingCons – expensive and can be loud
