Where is the Best Fireside Dining in Chicago, Illinois?

My first visit to the Fireside was about a month ago. I similar to the previous gentlemen also got the catfish, which I found to be extraordinary!!!!!! I also found that it did not come with tartar sauce, but after a few bites I came to realize that it really did not call for it. The catfish was tender, juicy and just rightly seasoned. As for the the staff, the waiters are incredible and even the managers have stopped by my table to assure that everything was going OK.. I will definitely be back and have received a few kudos from those of my friends who have visited.Pros + Late night kitchen hours, nice patio, friendly staffCons – dark lighting in bar

Hey, butter and salt and pepper are awesome with steak! MY KC strip was cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. The wait staff knows their stuff, they made great recommendations interms of what pairs well with what. The salad portions were large and were pretty good. The au gratin potatoes were pretty good, but I wasn’t thrilled. And if they have the Tahitian vanilla gelato, save some room! Good eats.

My friends and I started going to Moody’s in the mid-1970s, it is an institution in Edgewater! I have many fond memories of meals and drinks there. Yes, it’s very dark but that is a big part of the atmosphere. The burgers and onion rings were/are the best. It is a great place to sit outside on a hot summer night, you could sit, talk and eat for a long time and no one would chase you out. Also the fireplaces make it a wonderful cozy spot in cold weather. I live in the Atlanta suburbs now and unfortunately the metro area does not have anything to compare with Moody’s food or environment. Pros + atmosphere, burgers, location

The location of the restaurant is wonderful on the shores of North Pond in Lincoln Park, and the restaurant is very interesting – we loved the decor inside, the lighting, and the atmosphere. It was very cool to think that the building was a former ice skating warming shelter. As far as the food, it was very good (expensive, but good!) I really appreciate the efforts and using seasonal and organic ingredients, and wished the waitress had talked more about where the different ingredients came from. The service was good in general, but the waitress wasn’t really that talkative and could have explained things a bit better without us asking. There were a lot of other servers that brought stuff to our table and explained things when they brought them.I had frog legs for 1st course, which were quite good, but I probably wouldn’t get again, as I found the meat a little weird in texture. My fiancee got a ramp soup with a crab cake – it was phenomenal – so smooth and very very tasty. For dinn
