My husband, 2-year old son & I recently went to Z’Tejas after a friend told us how delicious the food was. We were HIGHLY impressed with the entire visit there! We visited on a Sunday evening & got sat immediately. Our waitress (whose name was April & was VERY knowledgeable about the menu) greeted us quickly & had waters to our table in what seemed like just 1 minute after we sat down! We enjoyed fresh cornbread & chips and queso before our meal arrived. I HIGHLY suggest the Chicken Mac & Cheese (it has a more fancy name than this but I can’t remember it); it wasn’t too spicy & was the melt-in-your-mouth mac & cheese that I wish I could bake at home! My husband had pork & said it was delicious as well! (Try the raspberry hibiscus iced tea for a refreshing summer drink as well!!) All-in-all, I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice, quiet place for dinner. They had a beautiful patio out back that seemed to be popular, but we opted to eat inside this vis

The ambience is wonderful, the service is great and the food is excellent. We will go back in a heartbeat. It is so nice to have this quality of restaurant in Austin! The portions are very big. We thoroughly enjoyed everything, although the minestrone is a bit thicker than is classic and had no legumes. The salad dressing and all the sauces were excellent and rich; The boar shanks were so tender they melted in your mouth and the pork chop was thick and juicy with a fabulous marsala sauce. With a bottle of wine and tip (no dessert or coffee) we spent $75, but could have ordered much less and left full.Pros + Great happy hourCons – no parking

What an amazingly romantic spot. Spent our 9th Wedding Anniversary here and the chef and wait staff out did themselves. I have been back on several occasions with friends from out of town. Lovely restaurant!

Well, we went to the Travis restaurant for a nice meal while staying at the Lakeway Resort. It was disgusting. I ordered a veggie burger that was basically mush on bread. My mom ordered a 22$ fish dinner that tasted like Gorton’s frozen fish. Ew. Then the next night we were craving some sweets, and ordered room service. The only thing good was the chocolate ice cream & gummy bears my sister ordered…i mean how can you mess that up? However, I ordered (and this is straight from the menu) a Potted Cherry Pie that was supposed to have a flaky crust but smelled like dog food/burger/bbq. And it was cold. Not even room temp. Soooo if you are craving a burger/and or dog food, order the potted cherry pie and you won’t be let down.Pros + Nice atmosphereCons – Sh*tty food

02/08/09 BBQ Fans I am so glad that i was able to eat at this great bbq restaurant before relocating in the next week. I’ve heard of the Saltlick before but never really had the urge to drive out and try it, boy am i glad that i did.with there one of a kind open pit, the smell of the bbq was phenomenal and the taste was even better. The meat was plentiful, the brisket was smoked perfectly with the very noticable smoke rings outlining the meat, the sausage was tasteful and the pork ribs were so tender that the meat was literally falling off the bone! I had my 5 year old niece with me and she had there smoked chicken, thank goodness she was nice enough to share a piece and just like she said ” it was delish!!!!” while waiting to be seated, we were able to review the menu. Since my brother has a sweet tooth, he was determined to order the blackberry cobbler, well, like all younger brothers, i followed and i ordered the the split cobbler which consists of peach and blackberry cobbl
