We are residents of Decatur and eat out very often. We were very frequent Mick’s customers and were sad to see them close. But Parkers has definitely “one upped them” in food and with a beautiful atmosphere and style. This location–particularly the patio– is best in Decatur for people watching, atmosphere, shade– as we LOVE to eat outdoors anytime we can. Their patio is suberb. We have eaten there dozens and dozens of times and have never been disappointed with food or service even one time. The servers are all very good and we have some that have been absolutlety delightful, attentive, fun, and very friendly. The BEST! Everyone makes you feel very welcome from Host to Managers to Owners– as well as servers. Truly our Number 1 Decatur favorite! All they need is those WHEAT rolls as an option they’ll be PERFECT!Pros + Location, View, Food, Service, Owners and Managers!Cons – Can be pricey and need bread variety (ie wheat option)

Last evening was our anniversary and our first visit to the Horseradish Grill. It had been recommended to us by my step-daughter. By far this was our best dining experience since relocating to Atlanta in 1993. The food, drinks, wine selection and wait staff were all excellent. My wife started with muscles in white wine sauce. I generally do not care for shell fish but these were excellent, this was followed by a port wine poached pear salad and finally lamb chops. I started with pulled pork, coleslaw on a cornmeal pancake, salad and grilled mountain trout. All were exceptional and served perfectly by a highly trained professional staff. The high light of the evening was dessert, Kentucky Spiced Oatmeal Cake topped with caramel ice cream. To characterize this amazing treat as “to-die-for” would be an understatement. Our thanks to all at the Horseradish for making this a night to remember, in particular our waiter who went way beyond what we have grown to expect in the Atlanta area – we

This was our first visit back to The Blue Ridge Grill in several years. As to why, we are still trying to figure it out. This is one special dining destination, that is charming and unique. It’s a Ralph Lauren mountain lodge, with a cozy fireplace, and loaded with pure elegant Southern Charm. The menu is still somewhat rustic-southern-and gourmet, all at once. We split an app. of Iron Skillet Mussels. If you like Mussels, you will love them here. I had to get the Fried Oyster Salad, with a terrific made-in-house Ranch. My companion, ordered the Warm Goat Cheese Salad. We could have made a full course out of the app. and salads, with the wonderful bread. But with the great wine pairings our very nice server suggested, we were ready for the main event. I had the Horseradish Crusted Grouper w/Fennel and a Grapefruit Butter Sauce. I’ve never had sauce that unique, to drown each bite of Grouper in, terrific. My partner had the best Grilled Wild Scottich Salmon w/Artichoke Relish,

Recently we had the pleasure to go to The Warren Club, above our old fave Dark Horse Tavern. It’s private, and admittance with a member is required. We climbed those stairs above the Dark Horse, and entered into a refuge away from the masses. This is at the top of the Highlands, and a great outdoor patio, overlooking the street scene. What a great change of pace. Within a few minutes, everyone knows your name, and they make you feel welcome. The owner, Kristy Warren, came up and gave us a wonderful introduction. The drinks were liberal, the buffet was terrific, and we just had a great time. If you want to bypass those long club lines, putting up with out of hand drunks, and want a nice experience, this is it. And joining The Warren, is on our list, we owe it to ourselves.Pros + Privacy, Great Music, Drinks & Food! Friendly Members!Cons – Need To Get In Better Shape For Those Stairs! LOL!
