Where is the Best Fine Dining in Washington, District of Columbia?
Name a cuisine where the best of DC far outshines anything NY has to offer. The one example that leaves DC Basque-ing in glory is Spanish — solely because of Taberna. Executive Chef Santi Zabaleta is a wonderful and consistent performer. He is in touch with culinary revolution in Spain, but he realizes that no restaurant anywhere in the US has yet CONSTRUCTED the richly varied authentic regional cuisines of Spain, so we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves by deconstructing it la Ferran Adria. David Bueno’s wine program is perhaps the best in the city, and Manolo Gracia is a wizard at the bar.
