Where is the Best Fine Dining in Dallas, Texas?
Maguire’s is an absolutely fabulous find! I’ve visited numerous times now, and everything that I’ve tried has been wonderful. From the delicious Maguire’s Salad to scrumptious Lava Cake (hot fudge oozing from a freshly baked cake) and everything in-between, all that I’ve tried promises to become my new favorite. Specials to try: the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich (order it as an appetizer and share), the Pork Chop (between the champagne mustard gravy and the garlic mashed potatoes, I went to heaven, and the Iced Tea!!!! It’s champagne-apricot and it’s sooooo good. It’s a great place whether you’re dressed up in a suit or dressed casually. The folks at the restaurant are exceptionally nice and welcoming to everyone. Try this one soon!
Had a great b-day dinner at the Dallas location of N9NE last night. I have a few quibbles, but thankfully they’re not with the food. Everything we ate was very good, at times veering into marvelous.I started with the Rock Shrimp. Think popcorn shrimp with a salty-spicy batter and an exquisite Sriracha-based hot sauce. If I had to knock it, I would say that the power of the batter drowned out the shrimp a bit, but there’s no denying that what it drowned it out with was pure delicious. My wife got the daily soup, Black Truffle Potato, and it was rich, subtle and warming.We then went for another starter round and shared the Kobe Tatare, a first for us. The succulent beef was well chopped, and a generous Dijon sauce (pre-mixed in) did much to distract from the fact that it was raw. Honestly, it was delicious; a great surprise for us both. As a frequent diner of The Palm in Dallas, as well as others around the US, I belive that The Dallas location ranks up there with the best. The food is always fabulous (LOVE the fact that they started offering a larger variety of fresh fish), the service is impeccable, and everyone from the bussers to management make you feel like you are a part of their family. While some are entitled to the opinion that the atmosphere is outdated with the hundreds of cariactures adorning the walls, it is a tradition carried on by all the Palms since they opened decades ago and I’ve even had the pleasure of seeing an “unveiling”…quite the comotion and excitement I must say. Mercy Wine Bar is one of my favorite places in Dallas! The entire experience is wonderful and enjoyable, regardless of how many people you go with. A little expensive, the food and wine are worth every penny. I recommend the flights of wine chosen by the servers. He or she asks your preferences and brings out three wines that never disappoint. Lawry’s is a fanastic restaurant to visit with family or someone special! The decor is very sophisticated, old-money, without being pretentious. Reservations do not guarantee that the table is ready when you arrivfe, but usually ensure quicker seating. Dress is business casual, though we did see a party waiting in jeans and medical scrubs…but don’t go there, it was not appropriate. Service was prompt and very polite, which I even noticed at surrounding tables under difference wait staff…there really is a difference when your waiter is clearly an established, experienced professional (versus someone waiting tables through college). The food is fantastic…even the complementary, warm sourdough bread! I got the ceasar salad, filet mignon with parmesan crusted au gratin potatos (which were heavenly and decadent) and onion crisps.
