Just wanted to try a new place for a pastry and espresso. The cinnamon roll is actually out of croissant dough– at least it tastes that way. Yummy! And Illy coffee is always a nice treat. If you are going to dish out a few bucks at the chain across the street… Don’t. Just fork out a dollar or two more and get something made in house at the 1886 Bakery!Pros + Nice quiet, reserved, and beautiful interior character

All I can say is that it was the best meal I have ever had in this city, hands down. I have lived in Miami, NYC, and London, and France… I have eaten every where worth wild and I can’t remember a meal quite so good. The inventions this Chef “Lawrence Kocurek ” has brought to town are defiantly a reflection of his NYC culinary background. We started the meal with a Sushi dish that was Hamachi two ways, both in tartare form and the grilled Collar, my favorite… it was to die for, subtle in the tartare and assertive flavors in the collar. Next we had the Hearts of Palm Salad with Truffle dressing, get this Chef Kocurek made the prosciutto that is in the salad in house, the waiter said it has taking a year to mature…who does that outside of NYC and other great cities. The salad was fantastic. Then for entree my wife and I had the “Opakapaka” Hawaiian Snapper and I had the Loin of Lamb…blown away the Lamb was cooked to perfection and looked like a steak the way it was prepar

My husband and I went on a Friday night recently. I went in having low expectations, knowing it was a buffet style restaurant and in my experience this usually means a wide variety of mediocre food, usually overpriced because of all the waste that is taken into account. Keeping that in mind, I wasn’t really disappointed. I was actually pleasantly surprised with a lot of the dishes, and I appreciated that the “chefs” put out small, fresh quantities of everything instead of enormous troughs. We had fun sampling all the different kinds of food, though there was too much to be able to try it all in one visit. Some of our favorites were pasta dishes, like Rigatoni Primavera, Pasta Rossa, and Fire Roasted Vegetable Lasagna. I also really liked the rotisserie chicken, and the meatloaf with balsamic glaze. Some of the vegetables that stood out were the broccoli limone, the butternut squash, and the summer squash. All the salads where pretty good, and the little mushroom toasts wer

Every once in awhile, I have a craving for something exotic, wild, and different. This is where we go for that. The sauces are unique. The sample platter is a delight of several exotic beasts. The salad is clean and fresh tasting. I think that they even pick dandelions from their backyard, and the cilantro off of the roof. The ambience is simple and refreshing. The people are delightful. This is a popular place, so the parking may be on the creative side and the wait may be longer than you expected. Just keep on drinking your wine and enjoying the unique gardens in the back area.

Ambiance and decor needs more for what you are paying…It’s like “design on a dime” kind of setting with upscale pricing
