Where is the Best Fast Food in Austin, Texas?
My husband and I ate there with a couple of friends. I had the Tuna Melt (juicy and savory!) and hubby had a Double Flatty Burger (also excellent). The atmosphere is fun and relaxed. You can choose to eat in the dining room, which has the feel of a classic burger joint. Or you can go eat on the “Back Patio” which is a LARGE deck area with an assortment of tables and a HUGE bigscreen TV where they show sports games. If you eat out there, you can have your dog with you. They even have theme nights especially for people and their dogs. I wish I could eat there regularly, but I live too far away from Austin!Pros + excellent food, fun relaxed atmosphereCons – There are no Hubs close to where I live!
I have been using Boomerang’s for lunch (and more recently, even breakfast) appointments with my doctor’s offices. They love it! The nurses rave over the Chicken and Mushroom and vegetarians LOVE the Mediterranean Veggie pies. They make for such a convenient and unique boxed lunch…and once they’ve had a taste, the offices ask for Boomerang’s again and again! The staff at Boomerangs are responsible and friendly… they always get my orders right AND on time (a big plus in my line of work!). BTW, the breakfast pies are delicious…like little savory quiches. They only offer breakfast pies for catering right now… but soon they may be offered on the permanent menu! If you are a rep and are tired of pizza and BBQ lunches, call Jack at Boomerang’s. Your offices will love you for it!
This place is a regular stop for lunch. Everyone I’ve taken here wants to try the fish tacos first, and I have to tell them to get a bowl on their first trip – they’ll be hooked! If they start with fish tacos, which are only so-so, they won’t want to come back with me. So public service announcement : the fish tacos are the wrong thing to order here. Banzai bowl! Banzai bowl!Pros + The banzai bowlCons – The tacos
Well, I didn’t go there to be entertained by the ol’lady behind the counter but she did not give me any trouble . I got the double cheese combo and ordered the burger all the way. It was an excellent example of the classic greasy cheese burger. Fries were subpar and the tea I got was good and sweet tea. Once I placed my order I had it in about 3 to 5 minutes. I would go back. Pros + Very good burgerCons – Fries were not very good and don’t go on a very hot day. You eat outside
This food is delicious! I work downtown and my office was having a training so we ordered Take-out from Portabla. We all ordered these Panini sandwiches and they were YUM! They had basil pesto and provolone cheese…my favorites!! The homemade cookies were delicious! Plus, the service was GREAT! Let me tell you what happened: They forgot one of the sandwiches and I was picking everything up. I should have checked. I felt so bad, but since we were in training I couldn’t get back in my car to get it. So I called to let them know and the CHEF/OWNER agreed to bring it to our office HIMSELF. Now that’s service! Who does that anymore? I know he’s a new owner for this restaurant and I guess he’s aiming to impress! Mission accomplished! I can’t wait to go and try it for dinner!Pros + Delicious Gourmet Food, Excellent ServiceCons – I wish they delivered lunch to downtown!
