Where is the Best Family-Friendly Hotel in Chicago, Illinois?
Pros: Great staff and service. Rooms recently redone, so everything is clean and nice. And they let you chose your own pillow type, which is a nice touch. Great rooftop bar. The hotel’s restaurant, C-House, was great for entertaining clients. The servers were personable and knowledgeable, and the food was perfect. Hotel is close to all the good shopping. Cons:…
Overall this is a very nice hotel. The decor is modern so that the rooms don’t have a lot of direct lighting. We were on the 21st floor and we had a nice view of the Chicago River and Michigan avenue. For families take into consideration that there are not sleeper sofas in the regular rooms. We have three children and had to bring in two twin rolling beds in addition to the king bed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The workout room is larger than expected with a good variety of equipment. The location is great for Michigan avenue shopping, theatre, Museum of art and Centennial Park. Also easy access to the Lakeside running trail. Also a number of small bakeries and coffee shops are within a block or two. Sears tower is a long walk but my young kids did fine.
My husband and I and two friends spent the weekend at Hotel Monaco. Our rooms were updated, clean and attractive. The hotel staff was outstanding–friendly and always willing to out of the way to find answers to questions or provide suggestions. Several additional features would encourage us to return besides the good location (close to the river and a block…
Hotel is located at a great location but has several things missing. How does a 4 star hotel have no pool? When I asked they said their sister hotel has one which is like 4 to 5 blocks away thats like hey why dont I go to the local YMCA to swim? Walls way to thin we could hear the telephone ring of the room 2 doors down. Room too small barely any room to move around. I stayed at another 3 star hotel even that had a 42″ LCD TV this one being 4 star had a 25 inch tube not even flat screen.
