Where is the Best Family-Friendly Dining in Charlotte, North Carolina?
Rodi has wonderful food, great service, a funky atmosphere, and great music. The owner has a true love of music and is especially fond of local and regional artists. This is one of my favorite restaurants and is well worth a drive from Charlotte. So get your nose out of the air, drive across the county line , and check it out. I recently moved to the Charlotte area and I have been looking for authentic German Fare since arriving. Finally, I found this little gem here on city search and I could not be more pleased. The food was delicious. Honestly, I have not found a single dish yet i have not thoroughly enjoyed. The comments about the wurst platters are absolutly spot on. The knockwurst, in particular, is to die for. Its so buttery that I am getting a bit hungry talking about it now. A couple of suggestions to those who eat there:1. Try the jagerschnitzel both as it is listed on the menu (with pork cutlets) and try it with the breaded veal cutlets. The Hunter Sauce accents both extremely well.2. Join The Beer Club! It truly is worth it!!!3. Try the Black Forrest Cake. It truly is chocolate cake and cherry heaven.Anyhow, swing by sometime and enjoy. Good Ol’ Days is a great family restaurant with burgers, pizza, breakfast all day, and plain ol’ good, old-fashioned food. The 50s-60s-70s themes are such fun for olsters and youngsters. The food has gotten much better with the new owners, too. We really enjoy our visits there now. The waitresses dress in circle skirts, and the oldy cars are nostalgic fun. Not perfect, but better than most places in our opinion!Pros + Food was wholesome and better than I remember back when….Cons – No privacy, but great for the family
