Where is the Best Family-Friendly Dining in Albuquerque, New Mexico?
We have heard a lot about this restaurant and finally got a chance to visit it. We had great service, but the food wasn’t what I expected, but it was good. We have had better calamari and fettucini alfredo. I expected a better ambience, but otherwise it was cute and the bar area looked nice and the menu and prices were appropriate for the quality and restaurant style. It was kind of cheaply decorated, but cute and slightly romantic. It could definitely be done better for ambience though. Love the location – just off I-25 and San Mateo.Pros + Price, Food, Location, ServiceCons – Cheaply decorated
More than just a spaghetti house, it offers variety, quality, generous portions… and every taste bud will be happy. Service is always good but there is generally a wait for seating in the evenings. It’s a bit too loud to be truly a romantic atmosphere but it’s great for families, special occasions and desserts to die for. Strolling entertainers.Pros + good food, good service, adequate parkingCons – usually waiting line, extremely loud
i’ve been a fan of flying star for many, many years. i’ve spent more time in their restaurants than i care to admit. the food is tasty, innovative. has quality ingredients. is well-prepared. lots of variety.but let me tell you, their coffee is awful. grossly overroasted. i’d rather consume office coffee that’s languished on a hotplate for 4 hours than flying star’s offering. i’ve never understood why the management insists on peddling that stuff.but it’s about the only blemish on an otherwise fine dining experience.Pros + Creative menu, quality food, relaxed but tasteful decorCons – Was that coffee or charcoal tea I ordered? Service can be slow.
Longtime residents of Albuqerque know Powdrell’s for their Good ‘Nuff BBQ. You can’t go wrong with anything you decide to order but my favorites are the BBQ beef sandwich, to die for potato salad and perfectly cooked greens. There have been many new BBQ restaurants pop up in Albuquerque lately, but Powdrell’s remains my favorite hands down. The family run restaurant always creates a super friendly atmosphere even when you order from take out Mrs. Powdrell will often come out to say hello. Powdrell’s is simply delicious just try it once and you’ll see why it’s been around forever!Pros + atmosphere, food, ownersCons – closed on Mondays
