Let me say this, I did have some trouble getting the appointment scheduled similar to some of the reviews below. I did, however, get that worked out with a personal call from the owner, Megan. Today was the day that my boyfriend and I visited the spa and had a really great experience. From the beginning of our appointment where we worked out our aromatherapy to the time we left, we were made to feel extremely special and were well taken care of. For those of you that take reviews seriously, it is pretty apparent from the content/timing of the bad reviews that they don’t seem legit. I would highly recommend giving Aequis a try for yourself. I cant say enough wonderful things about Nickol…. Im so impressed with her work on my hair. Nickol has been my stylist for years and I cant imagine having anyone but her color or cut my hair. She is a genius when it comes to color! She talks with you on what you are wanting done and really cares about the health of your hair which Ive never encountered before. Im used to paying someone to do what I ask and never received any input, even if what Im asking for will damage my hair, which I may not be aware of. Nickol wants the best for your hair and gives tips on keeping your hair beautiful. Im always completely satisfied with the results. After one such appointment, Nickol described to me the thermal straightening process after I complained one rainy day how my hair just seems a mess for so many months during the year since portland is so rainy. Thank you Angela Tisci, I had the best birthday of my life this year and Venus Envy helped make that possible. I made an appointment for anything and was recommended the Gaea package of half acupuncture and half massage. This treatment had immediate results and I booked another appoinment for a few days later (on my birthday) for a one hour massage and another acupuncture treatment. The massage therapist, Cecily really got into the tight spots quick and the tension in my body was subsiding within minutes of starting the massage. Tesla Rocks! and not in a bad 80s hair band kind of way…I read all about Vanity Junkie on Citysearch (along with many other salons) and decided to give it a try. I typically go to local schools (Aveda and Paul Mitchell) for services as I don’t get to riled up about salons in general. I wanted a new look and wasn’t sure what it was exactly, just something different than I usually have. I walked into VJ was welcomed and waited for my appt on a comfy couch. Tesla greeted me and took time to discuss what we should do to change my look, she had a lot of good ideas. Her skills and personality made the appt fun and time flew. Now I have a great style that works for when I let my unruly wavy hair do its thing and can be sleekly styled with a flat iron. I will be back to see them! I have been struggling with acne and breakouts since my adolescent days.
