This has been my hair salon for over 14 years. I have been living in the South of France, New York and Austin, Texas. I mention this because I have been exposed to some of the best hair salons in the world. I have called from all over the world to get my custom mixed hair color formula and make sure that I maintain the color formula that Salon de Cinzia keeps on file. I don’t just have a hair color formula on file, I have a perfected process that is customized to my hair. The owner has taken the time to explicitly design a process around me and my hair needs. My roots are attended to, and in the last moments of processing a semi-permanent glaze is added for extra shine. This formula is often reformulated to take into consideration new techniques and seasonal changes. They are continually sharing new techniques and educating me on how to preserve my color and take care of my hair. So I walked by this place for months, wanted to go, but never found the occasion. Now, I will make an occasion. I am really picky about hair salons/stylists, I have thick, curly, colored (and thus damaged) hair. I do not like being sold products that I don’t need and I like a little (and I mean a little) conversation with my stylist. The Beauty Bar is now my idea of the perfect salon. I went in for a wash, cut, blowdry and eyebrow wax, I was seen virtually right away, and Tara, my stylist, was amazing. She followed my directions on the cut to the letter, not taking too much and no funky angles or layers. She then blow-dried my hair pin straight (a momentous task) so well that I didn’t want to wash it for days. The eyebrow waxing was done downstairs in the make-up/party room and Stacy did a great job. They do private parties and you bet that I am going to be telling my sister to organize something wedding related for me here.
I got a Valentine’s day certificate for a facial, hair cut and blowout and I was in desperate need of them!I had a great facial with Lisa. She knew the nature of my skin right away. The flow of the facial was perfect with hand/arm massage and uplifting music (not spa radio musak). She didn’t try to sell me products and she taught me so much about how to better take care of my skin with simple routines, and using sugar with my face wash to make an exfoliant. After (I can’t remember his name. started with an A) I had a great haircut! Again no pushing products although I did buy the one he used to finish my hair (it smelled great and it turns out didn’t cost $50…just $12). The cut was fresh and new for me with a little bit of edginess. He was confident about what would be good for my look and really knew what he was doing. As Lisa said, it’s kind of like a family. After a horrible experience a few years ago with my hair, I was extremely reluctant to get my hair cut and took to trimming it myself. But a friend recommended Moodz, so I decided to check it out. As soon as I stepped inside, i realized that I was going to have a good experience. The atmosphere was fresh, sunny and modern, and the whole place had a sparkling clean vibe to it. I wasn’t positive on what cut I wanted for my hair, but my hairdresser was super nice. She helped me pick out a cut that suited my face shape. Then she shampooed and conditioned my hair into silkiness. During the whole cut, she asked me friendly questions and made me feel relaxed. At the end, she made my hair look spectacular. When i went back to work everybody was complimenting my hair, and saying how amazing it looked. I would recommend Moodz to everybody! However, their Boutique isn’t very good, the person working their was rude to me and the items for sale weren’t that good.Pros + Good and friendly service,
