Where is the Best Dessert in Savannah, Georgia?
Great short order place, expect to have a coronary right after. Staff are Savannah natives with attitude but in a fun way. This was the diner that John Cusack went to in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Prices a slightly higher than a run of the mill short order, but the location isnt exactly a truck stop, in that its deep in the heart of the high rent Historic District. Great place to start your day if you are sight seeing.Pros + Quintessential South Greasy Spoon with rich HistoryCons – Slightly over priced for short order, but worth it
Felt much more like L.A. than what I thought a Savannah restaurant would be like. We visited here the first night of our honeymoon. Martinis are supposed to be the speciality, but they were just good, not great. We were told to do the tapas for two, but found it much better to order more tapas, and skip the salad and dessert. Definetly worth visiting. One of the 3 best restaurants we visited in the 10 days in Savannah, Charleston, and HHI.Pros + Food variety and portions. Music and ambience were great.Cons – Pricey martinis.
My husband and i made it a special point to visit this particular rest. while in Savannah. We were seated promptly however, i could not tell you the quality of the food because shortly after we received our food a group of girl scouts were then seated next to us. It was hard to enjoy my meal with 25 giggling and squealing 10 yr olds in the room with us. I would have moved but we had already been served our meal. Our meal w/ a bottle of wine was well in excess of $100. When i tried to complain to the manager his attitude was hate it for you. If i want to be surrounded by 10 year olds i will eat at McD’s for $10 not $100. I would NOT recommend this rest. unless you love the play area at McD’s!
