Where is the Best Dessert in Charlotte, North Carolina?
AFter having cheesecake in Pasadena and Beverly Hills, I have to say, the service is not up to par.The food here is always excellent and the bread is sometimes warm, sometimes stale. One time, my inlaws were in town, so we decided to Cheesecake. The watress was pretty new and she spilled a whole glass of water on me. Then, didn’t even attempt to make up for it. Also, she didn’t even tell us that her shift was over and we weren’t helped the rest of the evening. It was sad and I don’t like the waiting either. The girls at the front counter don’t seem professional and are always talking about nonimportant things. The only people I think are working are the busboys/girls & the cooks. if everyone worked like their lives depended on it, we would be a happier society because no one would get jipped. Pros + food, food, food Cons – parking, service, loud, wait 45min -1.5 hrs on weekends(they don’t take reservations)
Rodi has wonderful food, great service, a funky atmosphere, and great music. The owner has a true love of music and is especially fond of local and regional artists. This is one of my favorite restaurants and is well worth a drive from Charlotte. So get your nose out of the air, drive across the county line , and check it out. You will not be sorry. The food is exceptional and it’s a great place to hear music, look at artwork, and relax.Pros + great food, atmosphere, musicCons – none
After traveling around Charlotte a good 2 – 3 hours we found Ciro’s by mistake when we had decided to go back to the hotel were the convention was being held. Upon entry the place was packed and I thought that we would be there for at least an hour before being seated. To our surprise the Owner (originally from Italy) came over and introduced himself and ask if we had been waiting long (This was after about 5 minutes). During our chat, the attendant called our name and seated us (approx. 10 minutes). The atmosphere was excellent, the owner even played several Italian selections on his accordion. Very romantic. My wife and I had an excellent dinner and the service was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any visitor at University Place in Charlotte. And for any racing fan there is a unique story between the owner and famed racing personality/former driver Benny Parsons. So drop by and read the article on the right hand wall as soon as you enter. Pros + excell
Barrington’s is definitely a one of a kind experience here in Charlotte. Where Charlotte is plagued with high end corporate eateries, this lone restaurant sits tucked away in a small quiet shopping center in South Park, where you wouldn’t really know where it is unless you were told about it. Somehow I think that’s what the owners wanted and it works!I’ve been here twice over the past couple of years and it seems it’s where the wealthy and well known of Charlotte choose to dine when they don’t want to be seen. From banking executives to local celebrity figures, you can probably count on seeing someone you’ve seen on TV or in the paper recently. Don’t let it fool you its not known as “see and be seen” place its more just good eats. Space is limited here, so better know which day and time you’d like to go and plan ahead. I have been lucky enough to go with some people who are so called “in” with the ownership and are regulars, so it was easy to get a table the same evening, but I ca
Being from NY it’s hard to find good pizza when you’re away from home. Thanks to our friends and family who have eaten there before and suggested we try it when we visit. On our once or twice a year visit to Charlotte, we always stop there for some pizza and some pine nut cookies (they are very delicious too!).The staff is always very friendly and patient.Sit outside by the fountain, it’s very nice.Pros + Staff is friendly and pizza is very tastyCons – I can only have it when I visit my family down there!
