The good news is that the Chocolate Maven has remodeled, and there is a lot more room, especially downstairs, and it is a gorgeous environment now. The bathrooms are really nice, and the dining room window the bakery is huge, and totally fun to watch the bakery in action. We had a great vegetarian meal, and there were tons of vegetarian items on the menu. There were vegetarian versions of a lot of the sandwiches. I got a fantastic salad with tons of really fresh greens and sliced tofu. For breakfast the tofu scramble is one of the best I have had and you can get most of the egg dishes with tofu, you can even get vegetarian eggs Benedict with veggie Canadian bacon. The soups are always vegetarian, and the Maven is famous for soup and bread. Personally, I find the staff is really friendly especially for such a busy place. They are eager to help, cheerful and quick. So it is one of my favorite places to go on a regular basis. I always buy an awesome loaf of bread on the way out. Oh yes, t

I wouldn’t say that JC’s was the most romantic place in the Duke City. There are places, such as the Indigo Crow and Casa Vieja in Corrales that are a romantic get away from this city. Plus the food there is the chef’s original style and it is seasonal too. While JC’s is nice to go to when you crave italian over Olive Garden or Carrabas, I cast my vote to the local “hole’s in the wall” for romantic wining and dining. And the prices are about the same for lunch or dinner.Pros + Good Parking, Good Appetizers, Nice KitchenCons – Crowded, Noisey, Too "everyday"

i’ve been a fan of flying star for many, many years. i’ve spent more time in their restaurants than i care to admit. the food is tasty, innovative. has quality ingredients. is well-prepared. lots of variety.but let me tell you, their coffee is awful. grossly overroasted. i’d rather consume office coffee that’s languished on a hotplate for 4 hours than flying star’s offering. i’ve never understood why the management insists on peddling that stuff.but it’s about the only blemish on an otherwise fine dining experience.Pros + Creative menu, quality food, relaxed but tasteful decorCons – Was that coffee or charcoal tea I ordered? Service can be slow.

Dee’s is a wonderful place to have lunch or an early dinner. They have unique sandwiches, soups, salads and of course, their desserts are out of this world! They make REAL NY cheesecake – no graham cracker crusts found here. Try the struedels and the carrot cake too. I live in Las Cruces and whenever I am in Albuquerque, I make a point of stopping in at Dee’s for the S.O.B. – South of the Border and dessert to bring back to Las Cruces.Pros + Reasonably priced, Wonderful food, Very PopularCons – Limited parking, Crowded
