As a parent, what do I want for my baby? Caring teachers who will give me peace of mind of mind when I’m at work. I get that at KRK. As it is, we parents feel enormous guilt about having to leave our darling angels at a day-care. But, KRK takes my guilt away. I can see my baby from my office computer. How cool is that! I feel blessed that not only me but my parents in India can also log in to see my baby in class. For grandparents to stay 8363 miles away from their blossoming grand-children is not easy. We can only meet once in 2 or 3 years. No one can understand the pain and nostalgia of staying far from my roots better than me. But, my parents feel so happy to see their granchild’s classroom at KRK from their home in India. That is priceless. Which other daycare will gave me that? And yes, the diversity rocks! I feel free and comforted at KRK because my child sees so much variety in the hair color, skin color, accents here that she will never feel odd. Cheers to that! Each class at

I use to work at this Child Care and I had to leave because of the incompetent managers and how they run the most expensive child care in Austin. It is a hell for all of the teachers there which makes loving their job difficult. There will be weeks at a time when they would run out of paper towels even toilet paper. The managers there think they are too good to follow the laws and park in their own hadicap spaces becuase they have to much to carry. What about the mothers with their 3 children, 3 pillows and blankets and backpacks? There is such a lack of employees that the teachers can’t even get doctors appointments or take time off because there is noone there to cover their shifts. The most important thing parents should ask about are ratios. The managers tell parents that the ratios are 4:1 or 8:1 and never a moment when it’s above but its simply not true. There will be a teacher with no assistant with 10 one year olds or 15 four year olds. Its just not fair to the children, their

I have delayed entirely too long in writing this review. I was given many recommendations when I moved to the Austin area over a year ago. The reason I chose The Childrens Center of Austin was the personable tour by the director, Nicole. She even allowed me to come back and observe a class. Since then, I continue to be happy with the teachers and the education my daughter receives. She came home the other day and told me about how E says elephant and Ella, a child in her class (?) and she just turned two!! They go to the computer lab and library all the time and when I picked her up one day, she could not stop talking about the puppet show… I think they have something special planned each month for the school. Anyway, I have had my daughter there now for almost a year and continue to be amazed.Pros + staff, location, education, etc.Cons – ???
