Where is the Best Date Spot in Nashville, Tennessee?
We have been going to Criallos for a couple of years (before it “caught on”). We love the food, and tolerated the bar, which has never been great . None of the bartenders makes a good mixed drink (martinis etc). The last 3 times we have run into unpleasant bar staff who seem incapable of managing a crowd without getting huffy. I think success may be their down fall. I know lots of “regulars” who have stopped going since it has become popular. The last time I ordered a cosmo, which was horrible. After paying $9.00 for it, I took one sip, my hubby took one sip of a warm beer, and we left. This used to be our “go to” spot. I don’t know what has happened. The food is interesting and delicious, the management just seems a little overwhelmed at how to deal with their success.Pros + good food, lovely atmosphereCons – crowded, bar too narrow, horrible martinis
Best food in Nashville. Chef Deb knows her stuff & combinations of herbs, spices, & choice of accompaniments superb. Mixed review due to inattentive server. Greatly disappointed with only one vegetarian entree & like previous reviewers, was told must call ahead ?special requests.? If so, WHY does Zola make a point of playing to the vegetarian aspect of their menu? Luckily, the one vegetarian entree was delicious, & if it had been served hot, rather than room temperature, we would?ve been 100% satisfied. (Not on the chef, but server, who delayed delivery.) Lamb entree too was room temperature, however, flavors are exquisite! Had lamb in Greece & this was even better. Tender, moist, flavorful! Accompanying grilled eggplant sandwich divine. Sides: Sugar peas in butter sauce, spinach w/ parm & grilled zucchini. All excellent, favorite zucchini. Pleasantly surprised at generous portion size?enough for leftovers. Best dish: Fried Casseri Cheese Starter with roasted tomatoes, spinach
Germantown Cafe is one of my favorite places in Nashville. Their Sunday brunch is such a special treat. The meal starts with their amazing bread that is dusted in cinnamon and sugar. Their fritatas are amazing, their french toast melts in your mouth, and the shrimp grits are insult-your-momma good! I love their pepper-jack grits that come on the side of most dishes for brunch. The last time I was there I had the crab cakes benedict with pepper-jack grits. The eggs were poached to perfection and the yolk was runny and yummy! I have also visited Germantown for lunch. I had the open faced chicken salad sandwich. After trying countless places for their chicken salad (most of them being too bland), Germantown did it right. The pecan honey glaze and fresh fruit make an ordinary lunch item, an extraordinary lunch item. I cannot wait to try out their dinner menu as I hear wonderful things about it. The service is AMAZING! Often the food arriving quickly. The wait staff is incredib
