Where is the Best Date Spot in Charlotte, North Carolina?

I read about Blue Restaurant and Bar in another Charlotte-based publication and decided to plan my best friend’s bachelorette dinner here. I called and arranged a time to come in and scope out the restaurant as well as try out some of the items on the menu. I was very impressed by the appetizers – which range from delicious scallops to equally yummy flavors of the Mediterranean. My husband and I also tried a few martinis and desserts on three different occasions. We were pleased with the selection and decided to book a reservation for our upcoming dinner party. Roughly a month prior to the event, I discussed the party details with two different staff members and was assured we would be allowed to sit in the Solarium room (their patio area). About two weeks before the event I called to confirm our reservation and was then told that another group (larger party) had also booked the same room that night, and that we (smaller party) would need to move to another area within the restaurant

Ryan and I were celebrating two years together so he made a reservation about two weeks before we went in last Friday (Aug. 4th). The directions they gave him over the phone were easy to follow, the valet promtly took our car, we were seated immediately, and greeted with fantastic service that continued throughout the duration of the meal. We had been planning to for sometime but hadn’t had the chance, however, I now know it was well worth the wait! We started with the extensive wine list, had magnolia salads (with warm goat cheese – delicious) moved onto duck with gnocchi and pork tenderloin with a grit cake and pancetta topped peach – both were tender and very well paired and prepared. Dessert is typically my favorite part of the meal yet here everything was so good it’s hard to say it was absolutely my favorite but we were again, impressed. One chocolate molten cake with homemade (slighty tangy – a nice surprise) cherry ice cream and the Barking Dog chocolate sampler we were in

Brought my mom and sister for brunch yesterday. Good thing we made a reservation. It was VERY crowded on a Sunday at 11:30. We were seated within 5 minutes but we did wait a while for our meal. We didn’t leave until 1pm. I was impressed with the large brunch selection. Mom had the bananas fosters french toast that she loved and sis enjoyed the eggs benedict. I had the mushroom fritata. Not as much flavor as i’d hoped but a little salt did the trick. We loved the little warm scone they offered us before the meal – buttery and sweet. Just slightly dissapointed with the wait for the meal (about 30 minutes) but there were some large parties in the room and the waitress was very attentive. I would certainly go back. Also, was sooo close to the East/West Light Rail. Pros + Decor, menu selectionCons – Wait times

Our party of three all had Italian. Everything was excellent, from the service to best Italian food with Sinatra in background to a quite ambience. Best we’ve had since moving to Charlotte area from NY. Also enjoyed a very good white wine, Avondale (S. Africa) which was recomended by our server, Lisa. We’ll be back!!Hey Frankies -Wonder where can we buy that wine?

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. I had been a few times before, and have always adored it, and this time was no exception! We look very young for our age, and sometimes have a problem getting quality service. Here, were treated like royalty by our great waitress! My birthday fell on a Sunday, and we made reservations for that evening. When we got there, we realized we definitely didn’t need the reservations! There were only two other groups there in the entire restaurant! You’d think it’d have been quiet, but one of the groups was a noisy wedding shower, downstairs. It was definitely bearable, though. We got the entire shabang, with the salad (I got the mushroom salad… DELICIOUS!), cheese fondue (sharp cheddar), meat (which is absolutely amazing…) and chocolate turtle desert. I adore chocolate covered strawberries, and alwasy devour them quickly, and they offer to replenish the strawberries each time. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. There’
