Where is the Best Date Spot in Charlotte, North Carolina?
This is the PLACE to be for anyone that is down and out or just feeling low. I can promise you will walk out feeling better. I saw Carrot top there way back in the day and Oh my God I thought my sides were going to split. I have seen a few others there and everytime they do not dissapoint. The serve great cocktails and have great prices. Check it out when you feel low or just down. World class in Comedy!!!!
I was there on Saturday night, first time. We waited 1 1/2 for our order to be taken. I did see there was a band, and the house was packed, but that length of time was ridiculous. When we did order the waitress was gracious. The food did come in about 45minutes. The food was generally good, nothing too exciting. I don’t know if they were understaffed, but the kitchen must have been overwhelmed. When it was time to get out check , one person in my party saw some extra charges on her bill. But she knew it would take for ever to get corrected, so she just paid it. We noticed at the table next to us, the same conversation going on, and they requested the manager. Just double check your bill. Overall and okay experience, maybe good on a less busy night.
Let me qualify my overall review, as saying ratings are relative to the class of restaurant per the User Review Guidelines. So, for an upscale, independent, restaurant within this price range, I am saying it is just average. I’ve had much better food and service at similar eateries (granted not within Charlotte, but I am trying to keep an apples to apples comparison so a 5 star in Charlotte is the same as a 5 star in Chicago or New York). That said, the atmosphere at Town is superb. They have a modern setting that is upscale but very comfortable and warm. This definitely is the place to be in uptown to meet up with friends, or just feel part of the local culture. The restaurant appears immaculate. I say appears, because I opened my napkin to find both utensils dirty (fingerprints and some sticky liquid). Service was very laid-back from the beginning, and I was there at lunch on a weekday with only about 20% capacity filled and plenty of servers. It took 5 minutes for the serve
